Would be very interesting to see how many actually died at Bragg vs how many died overseas doing very illegal things that the public shouldn't know about, but we'll likely never know

[–] SweatySteven@hexbear.net 38 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I think there's a possibility that they're redacting anything related to deaths caused by new and extraordinarily shitty equipment (IE: the F-35) or miscommunication (someone high in the chain of command fucked up, aka unsung heroes).

[–] Chronographs@lemmy.zip 34 points 2 days ago

I’d argue the public should absolutely know about it but probably a moot point

On 21 October 2020, the official Fort Bragg Twitter account sent out several sexually charged tweets.

there should be a true detective type show that centers on ft bragg as the nexus of evil in the universe

[–] vegeta1@hexbear.net 46 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

Fort Bragg being a place where a hellmouth is and the veil between worlds is thinner

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 36 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Y'know what? I really wouldn't be shocked if Moloch was some monster that lives under a burger military base and feeds off the human suffering we inflict on the world. It'd make a hell of a lot of sense.

[–] vegeta1@hexbear.net 23 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Leviticus 18:21 "You shall not give any of your children to offer them to Molech. " Iraq Palestine... How many children being killed deliberately I wouldn't be shocked.

According to Esoterica channel on YouTube, only one group of ancient ~~prime~~ people did that, and it wasn't the pagans.

Is this actual blood libel?
Or am I misreading this conversation? I'm open to the possibility that you did not just accuse jews of ritually murdering children and I'm just a dumbass who didn't get the post.
Are we talking about early Christians?

TrueAnon rule

Towards the end of my enlistment there was a string of 4 different unrelated murders on my base. One over a girl, another over a grudge, one I forget, then a drunk group of guys just randomly jumped someone they'd never met and beat him to death. A few weeks later I got jumped at my own barracks.

A couple of these redacted deaths might just be because the military is a mass murderer alcoholics club.

Thank god the troops fight for my freedom like this!

Yep, can't say this didn't have a hand in changing my world view.

[–] Utter_Karate@hexbear.net 33 points 1 day ago

At least they died doing what they loved (being murdered for control over international drug smuggling).

[–] GnastyGnuts@hexbear.net 46 points 1 day ago

Somebody keeps leaving fake bundles of $500 and some pills all over the base, triggering the natural SEAL instinct to kill and dismember your comrades for it.

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 63 points 2 days ago (3 children)

When they're not deployed to the middle east and africa shooting civilians our special forces end up killing each other back at home.

[–] Wheaties@hexbear.net 50 points 2 days ago

you joke, but I'm pretty sure there's a general who's gone on record saying this exact thing to try and excuse deaths at Bragg

[–] ShinkanTrain@lemmy.ml 34 points 1 day ago

I vote for the killing each other at home option.

[–] TankieTanuki@hexbear.net 12 points 1 day ago

We're fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them here.

[–] Edie@hexbear.net 48 points 2 days ago (6 children)

OOTL, what happened in Fort Bragg?

[–] came_apart_at_Kmart@hexbear.net 88 points 2 days ago (1 children)

as it was explained to me, larger military bases are like cities in the US... complete with their own organized crime syndicates. certain bases are notoriously dangerous. Ft. Hood and Ft. Bragg are the ones that come to mind as being in the news for particularly grim incidents. investigative reporting on the situation is scant because it's politically embarrassing and information is tightly controlled about the military, so we tend only hear about it when the families of victims make a lot of noise because their naive, be-all-you-can-be 18 year old kid got murdered/disappeared/found dismembered on a base in the US. the families get whiplash from all the "thank you for your service" patriotism of the propaganda leading up to the moment their kid stops responding to phone calls/emails colliding violently with the institutional reality of "fuck you, you're on your own" within the actual US military for enlisted personnel.

I've heard people in the military say if they ever got posted to a base like Ft. Hood, they would go AWOL and never come back because it's "fucked". probably exaggerating, but the sentiment is there.

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 42 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I've had friends and family stationed in both, it's not an exaggeration.

[–] AOCapitulator@hexbear.net 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

what a joke of a 'country' we are, for fucks sake how hard is it to have military bases follow commands

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 38 points 1 day ago

What makes you think superiors aren't involved?

[–] Posadas@hexbear.net 63 points 2 days ago

Gang warfare over control of drug trafficking, cover stories for overseas operations, spec ops guys getting bored and bloodthirsty.

[–] abc@hexbear.net 42 points 2 days ago

drug running basically lmao.

Seth Harp's book comes out in August about it

[–] spectre@hexbear.net 42 points 2 days ago (1 children)

There's a TrueAnon ep with the Twitter OP called JSUCC (referring to the JSOC - Joint Special Operations Command) that explains in detail, if you're interested.

[–] Crikeste@hexbear.net 20 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Any chance you could link that? Incredibly interested

[–] blunder@hexbear.net 13 points 1 day ago

Ep# 163 if curious

[–] combat_brandonism@hexbear.net 16 points 1 day ago

Seth Harp (tweeter in the OP) does the rounds every time he puts out a new piece. Just look for the pods he's a guest on

[–] happybadger@hexbear.net 39 points 2 days ago

It's the big army special forces base and they're highly corrupt. There's a lot of drug trafficking and crime related to that.

[–] dumpster_dove@hexbear.net 26 points 2 days ago

The Rolling Stone wrote a longish article about them https://archive.is/zITTl

[–] Wheaties@hexbear.net 46 points 2 days ago

Kinda sounds like a murder cult. If only the press weren't so constrained by libel laws, they could print up some eye-catching headlines and really put some people's feet to the fire demanding to know more about the "Fort Brag / Fort Liberty Murder Cult"

...oh wait, that's the Brits. So the Yanks have no goddamn excuse.
