A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

Here are some examples to inspire your own showerthoughts:

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. No politics
    • If your topic is in a grey area, please phrase it to emphasize the fascinating aspects, not the dramatic aspects. You can do this by avoiding overly politicized terms such as "capitalism" and "communism". If you must make comparisons, you can say something is different without saying something is better/worse.
    • A good place for politics is c/politicaldiscussion
  4. Posts must be original/unique
  5. Adhere to Lemmy's Code of Conduct and the TOS

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.

Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

Maybe doctors get more thanks per capita, but I would bet it’s not by much.

You know how: speaking their nonsense as quickly as possible in order to appear smarter.

Dealing with the former at the moment & no one’s taking it seriously due to this double standard.

Came to me after a good night sleep. Not even a memorable final boss.

And I thought they were supposed to be shying away from fossil fuels.

Forget the grunts and moans. When a mudcrab attacks my character, I want to hear "god fucking dammit" and "fucking shitbiscuit" from my character. That's how people actually sound when they get hurt.

So is there a smell that our brain blocks out or ignores because it is always there? Or have we evolved to have lungs that don’t have a notable odor?

I don't know, I find this distinction by gender curious. Although considering that my sisters are very much into doing things their own way, it's not much of a surprise.

EDIT: a more precise description of what my sisters do and one of my sister's job.

What if Trump was really into this kind of stuff and everything he has been doing is a secret genius plan to make sure people will pee on his grave for decades, if not centuries to come?

Every landline provider seems to be pivoting to VoIP now.

8 years ago the spring weather was different. It drizzled almost every day. It was cloudy. Now we have these clear sunny days, big winds and scant rain.
