The Israeli army claimed on Monday that it is investigating the bombing of the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital building in central Gaza last weekend. It suspects that the commander of the 252nd Military Division, Yehuda Vach, ordered the bombing of the building without obtaining the necessary authorisation.

“According to military protocol, the destruction of buildings designated as ‘sensitive’ in the Gaza Strip – such as hospitals and universities – requires approval from the head of the Southern Command or the Chief of Staff,” reported Haaretz. “However, 252nd Division, [Brigadier General] Yehuda Vach allegedly unilaterally downgraded the building’s classification as sensitive, thereby circumventing the need for high-level approval.”

The occupation forces converted the hospital — Gaza’s only specialist cancer treatment facility — into an army barracks several months ago. Nevertheless, military sources claimed that the attack on the building targeted “terrorists located in a Hamas terror infrastructure in an area that previously served as a hospital in central Gaza.”

Israel’s genocide in Gaza is in full swing as the Trump administration unleashes its ally and provides it with all the weapons it needs.

One week after the resumption of Israel’s genocidal aggression on Gaza, Netanyahu appears determined to continue on a path of massacres and devastation rather than return to negotiations to restore the ceasefire.

Both female and male Israeli soldiers raped Palestinian women from Gaza and the occupied West Bank – and Israeli citizens were allowed to watch and film the humiliation of stripped prisoners as a ‘zoo’-like form of entertainment – according to testimonies presented during the UN Commission of Inquiry’s public hearing on earlier this month.

Kifaya Khraim, International Advocacy Officer at the Women’s Centre for Legal Aid and Counseling, and ‘Witness 3’, a Palestinian woman human rights activist, gave the UN detailed accounts of sexual, reproductive, and other forms of gender-based violence committed by Israeli security forces and settlers. The testimony was part of the Commission’s third round of hearings documenting violations against Palestinians, particularly crimes targeting women’s bodies:

Israel has claimed that Israeli women have suffered sexual violence at the hands of Palestinians on 7 October 2023 and since, but these claims have been shown to be either without foundation or proven untrue, both by independent examination of evidence and by United Nations investigators. As the saying goes, it seems that Israeli accusations are a form of confession, exposing the dark mind of settler-colonialism, Zionism and occupation.

Palestinian film director and Academy Award-winner Hamdan Ballal was violently attacked by what his colleague described as a "lynch mob" of Israeli settlers on Monday night in the Palestinian village of Susya, south of Hebron in the occupied West Bank.

Ballal's whereabouts are now unknown after Israeli soldiers then seized him from the ambulance that arrived to treat him, his co-director and fellow Oscar winner of the documentary No Other Land, Yuval Abraham, said on X.

Abraham, a journalist for +972 magazine, said in a separate post featuring a shaky cell phone video that masked settlers "attacked Hamdan’s village, they continued to attack American activists, breaking their car with stones".

US and Russian officials have begun talks in Saudi Arabia as Donald Trump pushes to broker a limited ceasefire that Washington hopes will mark the first step toward lasting peace in Ukraine.

Ukraine and Russia have agreed in principle to a one-month halt on strikes on energy infrastructure after Trump spoke with the countries’ leaders last week. But uncertainty remains over how and when the partial ceasefire would take effect – and whether its scope would extend beyond energy infrastructure to include other critical sites, such as hospitals, bridges, and vital utilities.

On a daily basis, there is a steady stream of reports from Syria of field executions committed against former Syrian army officers who were supposed to have been granted amnesty by the new authorities, as well as indiscriminate gunfire injuring children in the Idlib province.

The new HTS-led Syrian security forces have failed to halt the sectarian killings, kidnappings and blood feuds---often participating in the violence themselves. Instead of resisting the ongoing Israeli occupation of southern Syria, Damascus has turned its guns on dissidents, disgruntled minority groups and Lebanese border villages while boasting about preventing weapons from reaching Hezbollah---to the great delight of the Israeli media.

Progressive groups in India held a national day of protest against Israel’s grave violations of the ceasefire in Gaza. The protestors also demanded the Indian government take a more assertive stand on the issue and stop indirectly aiding Israel’s criminal activities. The day of action was organized by the Palestine Solidarity Organization, a platform with participation from most of the left parties as well as student, women, and trade union organizations.

Washington has demanded that Iraq disarm and dismantle Shia resistance factions in the country, the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar reported on 21 March.

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth issued the demand to Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani during a phone call last Sunday,

The source stressed that “this issue is of special interest to the administration of [US] President Donald Trump.”

Sudani informed the US side that his government is working to address this issue through ongoing dialogue with the armed factions, known collectively as the Islamic Resistance in Iraq (IRI), the source added.
