Hey guys, I got a problem with the voyager app. I've downloaded the current version of the app store and also tried the current f-droid version. I try to connect to feddit.org, but always get a connection error as seen in the screenshot. If I go under "regional" in the server selection menu I can see the suggestion for feddit.org, but the picture is not loading properly, which looks to me like it also indicates an error. It also does not matter if I try mobile data or wi-fi. Both aren't connecting. If I try to connect through the browser through wefwef.app everything works fine. Boost for Lemmy also works. Any ideas what I can try?

While I subscribe to a lot of c/, still I have favourites I want to check in often; as such, the list is too long and not practical tu scroll down and I usually end up just searching the name instead

I would appreciate a placeholder for favourites in the sidebar

Please? Thanks for all the great work!

In the "Summit for Lemmy" app, if you go to a community that you moderate, click on the three dots in the bottom right corner:

then when the Community options pops up:

tap on "Community Info":

Which will give you the "Unsubscribe" / "Instance Info" options, as well as the community Header/Profile Image, Description, Stats, etc.

If you then tap the three dots in the bottom right corner, you end up with the option to edit /delete the community.

PLEASE add a feature similar to the Community Edit/Delete for Voyager.

In the "Thunder for Lemmy" app, when you share a Community/User/Comment, when you tap / click on the share button, a pop-up appears, asking you whether you wish to share via:

https,

via Community Link,

via Home Instance (if applicable),

share Post Image (if applicable),

share Post Media Link (if Applicable),

an Advanced Option (if Applicable),

(Advanced Sharing)

etc.

PLEASE PLEASE incorporate a similar feature into Voyager.

It would make sharing a hell of a lot easier.

piefed.social is a very popular instance, and I feel it's really beginner friendly, why isn't it an option on Voyager?

It would be nice to be able to import and export community subscriptions so as to more easily move between accounts.

Hi. I am new to voyager and I really like the app but I can’t find a way to set my post language. On the website you can just select it when you post but I can’t find that on the app. Is there a way to set it somewhere or how does the post language get selected?

Under Filters and Blocks, I’d love to see an option to:

  • Hide posts from users less than X days old (and an option to choose how long with a default of 8 days)
  • Hide comments from users less than X days old (and an option to choose how long with a default of 2 days)

It’s the posts I want to hide more than the comments.

Love the app but I hate the look and options of the bottom navigation bar. Am I missing something or isn't here no way to customize it currently?

Would love to be able to make it something like this...

are there plans to make loops.video posts play in the integrated player?

big part of my reddit experience were the short videos. we have come a long way, since i joined lemmy. and now with pixelfed and loops i feel like we are close to become full circle.

i'm pretty sure there are a lot of possibilities. when it come to propper integration.

but for now, i'd be pretty happy, if the posts containing a video from loops.video to play in the integrated player.
is this already planed?

It seems like the feed bottoms out after displaying 49 posts, where previously you could doom scroll continuously. Anyone else notice this happening? Feed is "All" sorted by "Hot"

Edit: Turned it off and on a few times and it seems to be working again

You are a beautiful human. Thank you.

A lot of posts like the one in the picture are mostly dominated by an image, that if tapped is just displayed as an overlay instead of opening the post. The areas where tapping cause the post to open are very small...

Is there a way of making it easier or a gesture I'm not aware of?

Just fired up Voyager on Android to discover a notification-style marker above the settings/gear icon. Opening Settings doesn't provide any clue as to why. Taking it further by tapping each of the top level menu items also doesn't show why.

Okay, Voyager. Keep your secrets...

Edit: F-Droid showed that Voyager had recently updated, so I tapped the recent apps button and swiped up to close Voyager. When I reopened it, the marker was gone.

I was wondering others have this problem. I see a comment. There'll be a few replies to that comment and then a roll up of the remaining comments will be there. I'd expect tapping it will unroll the comments. But when I do, the bar changes to a rotating arc icon, and then return to the rolled up status. Which is to say, tapping it doesn't unroll it.

Like the title says, I want to ask the dev if it's possible to add this feature. I remember when I used reddit, I used to use an app called "Boost for Reddit" and it had this nice feature that highlighted the new comments in previously opened posts. Boost used some brighter background color for the new comments but that's up to you, maybe something visible. The picture shows how it was for boost

I think it would be nice to see what new comments you have in previously opened posts

If I have to open a github feature request, let me know

Has anyone else experienced this? It happens on all photos, the bars are both above and below the actual photo.

It happens on my iPhone 7 on iOS 14.4 but I haven’t had this issue on any of my other devices.

When a mod is removed, it shows the info as “Added Mod” and when a mod is added, it shows as “Removed Mod.”

I didn't see this /c in this URL's crossposted list

Confusingly, the test API for this is named voyager.lemmy.ml

There's a red "1" notification on the Settings button at the bottom right, but I have no idea what it is.

Clicking on the button just opens Settings, no markings saying what the notification is related to.

Poking around a couple of settings didn't reveal anything.

On Android, v2.24.0

FIXED - It was a notification that an upgrade was available.

Is there no place to copy the link of a link post?

I just came across a YouTube video that I wanted to watch on a post but when I clicked on it it opened in the native YouTube app instead of Vanced.

Since the recent update I have had a red dot with a number 1 in it on top of my settings icon, as if to indicate a new feature or something. After looking through most of the options, the dot persists. Any ideas as to which menu I need to look into in order to clear the dot?

When a user name is very long (above 35 characters), the user tag is not visible anymore. Would it be possible to add an option to move the user tag to the left so it appears in front of the username?

I have "Show User Instance" enabled, btw.

I’ve been using the side loaded Apollo for Reddit, and Voyager comes extremely close to providing exactly the same experience for Lemmy. The one thing that doesn’t seem to be working is swiping right on the bottom nav to go back. If that was added it would be amazing.
