You effectively are your memories (with caveats). Its weird but true. If someone I knew literally did not remember anything (like, baby level) I would have to contend with that person I knew being dead.

It wouldn't be you

Same thing with rendering/layout/functionality frameworks. And each app has their own.

My favorite Android app, Trail Sense, which has the ability to know when sunrise and sunset are without Internet, is like 10MB

That...

Is that not illegal where you live?

The reason venues don't allow PDFs is so that you're forced to use their own platform for resale where they take a commission.

The reason they're so huge is

  1. They're generally not well optimized by the creators.
  2. They all contain their own dependencies
  3. There's a LOT of stuff in them (both code and dependencies). Which is kind of an optimization problem, but potato potato.

Oh hmm. Does it mention genetics? It could be more of a cultural thing.

embrace of eugenics

I genuinely don't know where this comes from? Did I miss something in the movie?

In case you're not aware having your memories completely deleted is the same as death

Its too busy. Too complicated. I think I clicked on a post title and it took me to the tag?

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 3 points 1 day ago (5 children)

The thing I noticed first is that titles get cut off without an elipsis.

Seriously, why is nobody talking about this??

URLs are completely useless with each instance applying an opaque, incrementing integer to each post, which is of course different across instances. No way to tell what community it's in just by looking at it, nor any way to recover the content from another instance if the instance in the URL goes down.

Also, if a post is deleted, comments on that post cannot be viewed except on someone's profile.

Like who came up with this? Microsoft?

FAQ: Yes, We Support Kinect

Q: ..This game supports Kinect?

Yes!.On PC only, if you plug iri a Kinect 2.0 to-your computer while the game is:apen, you-tan play through the entirety of the game using Kinect controls. Grab meat with your meat harids! Your body is the controller! We live in the future. Good luck.

Q:Is Kinect the optirnal way to play Space Warlord Organ Tradirig Simulator? Absolutely not.

Q: Why would | play a fast-paced reflex-based economic tycoon using Kinect?

| have no earthly idea, but | am personally sending the first person to direct message me documented proof of using a Kinect to play through the entirety of the campaign, (reaching the "The Top 0.1%" reputation level) a $50 Steam gift card. Primarily so I can. meet the kind of person who would do that to themselves, and plead with them for mercy lest they destroy us all.

Q: How did you put Kinect support into a game in 20217

| work with a brilliant, slightly unhinged creative programmer named Sam Chiet,. and one day, at 3 AM, | blearily opened my phone to find a video.of the game working with full functionality on a Kinect. And a tablet. And a Wiimote. You know, for the Nintendo Wii (2007).

He apparently did ail of those experiments in one night just because he cold, and Has since dedicated a large portion of his time to single-handedly becoming the final Kinect developer. | decided the safest option was to stay out of his way.

Q: Why did you put Kinect support into a game in 2021? | embrace the Sun with arms outstretched so that my oblivion will be. one og my own choosing.

I'm migrating because Transmission is horrible for a large amount of torrents (multiple of hundreds) due to the complete lack of concurrency capability. But I'll miss Transmission. This configuration has spanned many different operating systems and was migrated from transmission-gtk to transmission-daemon.
