I view memes as more fun when they're lower stakes, like retelling a joke someone else told you.
Thinking of it from a copyright infringement angle just feels so grimy and commercialized to me.

The Sega Genesis (or Mega Drive) had expansions that were meant to improve the capability of the system and extend its lifespan, but ultimately they weren't super popular because it didn't make sense to make games for such a small subset of Sega's market share.
This is the 32x add-on that allowed for 32bit processing, and someone has just stacked a bunch of them on top of each other to be funny.

I'm not totally sure how to moderate this with our "no politics" rule in this community. I'm thinking the situation (and this meme) is more independently funny than about a political agenda or bickering, so I'm leaving this up.
The spirit of the rule is simply to prevent this community from being another political battleground, and I don't think this post crosses that line.
