Helldivers 2, fingers crossed it runs decent

[–] pathief@lemmy.world 2 points 2 hours ago

I bought Dredge and Nine Sols!

Not enough college financial aid left for me to be able to, otherwise I'd have to look at my wishlist and see what's available for a good price.

none, can't afford anything.

It's it just me, or do these sales get worse every year?

[–] Panron@lemmy.world 9 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Fortunately, price info is actually tracked! If you use the SteamDB browser extension you can see the historical low price right on a game's product page on Steam.

For example, Terraria is on sale for it's 2 year low price of $4.99, but the lowest it's ever been is $1.99 (a little over ten years ago).

Oooo nice, I did not know about that, thank you!

In this economy?

Obviously something to get my mind off this economy.

  • Gris
  • Balatro
  • mirror's Edge
  • Horizon Forbidden West (saving this one for desktop)

E: refunded Mirror's Edge, it was running at like 5 FPS on low settings.

In the future try checking ProtonDB before buying/refunding. For Mirror's Edge in particular, it seems all you have to do is disable PhysX.

ProtonDB is an amazing tool, everyone should check it out!

Were there any physx settings turned on when running Mirror's Edge? It can bring a 5090 to it's knees due to removal of 32bit physx support. Great recent gamer's nexus video on it. Anyway, physx running on the CPU with Mirror's Edge kills fps

[–] Ulrich@feddit.org 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Yes. What do I do about that?

[–] Snoopey@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 hour ago

Basically only option right now is to turn off anything physx in older games like mirrors edge. Should solve the fps issue

Gris is great. Small, but beautiful.

[–] mohab@piefed.social 4 points 4 hours ago

If anyone can afford it, I recommend the Neva + Gris bundle. Neva is even better, IMO.

I've been eyeing Signals, Children of the Sun, Jusant, and Weird West for some time now. Maybe Floppy Knights and FAR Changing Tides too

[–] hangonasecond@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

Jusant is cool. Deck runs kinda loud but the gameplay is very enjoyable on controller.

[–] mrfriki@lemmy.world 1 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

They gave away Weird West on Epic a while ago. I checked it on Game Pass and had to quit it. The atmosphere is very good and overall looks interesting but the controls were awful for me to get used to. If you are going to get it I recommend checking it before the return window expires, just in case.

[–] inlandempire@jlai.lu 2 points 14 hours ago

Thanks for the heads up! I'm a fan of the people behind it and follow the development closely so I'm kind of biased and know what I'm getting into haha

[–] ssroxnak@lemmy.world 6 points 15 hours ago

I told myself not to buy any games until KCD2 is out on GOG. But I am tempted

[–] mrfriki@lemmy.world 7 points 16 hours ago

Probably Zomboid, been eyeing it for a while. And maybe Heavy Rain, at €2 it’s very tempting.

[–] Stampela@startrek.website 5 points 17 hours ago

I got Warplanes Air Corp and also Battle over the Pacific. And Dragon Age Veilguard.

However, lol, the servers must be a little overloaded, it’s downloading at dozens of megabits and, running a speed test at the same time gave me over 700 so yeah. It’ll take some patience XD

[–] Twinklebreeze@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago

Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Dead Cells already bought.

[–] cron@feddit.org 2 points 15 hours ago

I bought Station to Station, a nice peaceful train simulation game.

[–] atrielienz@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago

Aestik it's been on my wishlist for awhile and I don't see a reason not to pick it up at the current sale price.

[–] danielquinn@lemmy.ca 0 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I've stopped buying from Steam on account of their country threatening to annex mine. GOG is looking good though.
