Yeah, the false and evil king who gaslights his subjects on the necessity of his tyranny. Scar was the rightful and honest ruler.

[–] themaninblack@lemmy.world 32 points 3 months ago

Why would you say something so controversial, yet so brave

[–] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 24 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Yeah Scar's rightful and honest rule was so great lmao

[–] PapaStevesy@lemmy.world 9 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He was just dealing with the fallout from Mufasa's disastrous ecological and economic policies...

[–] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 3 points 3 months ago

I think his late reign was characterized more by inaction than action

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

The people are simply tired of Mufasa's musical monarchism.

Yes, the jackals march in unison while fire shoots ominously into the sky but,

[–] Kusimulkku@lemm.ee 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

But Scar had musical monarchy too, he was just an usurper, not really a revolutionary

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 3 points 3 months ago

Indeed. No social commentary to be found there!

[–] FooBarrington@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago

If I had to choose between a king without scars, and one with them, I'd always go with the latter. Scarless bitch probably had everything handed to them, never even fought a real fight.

[–] RandomVideos@programming.dev 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Didnt Scar make the kingdom worse?

[–] TrueStoryBob@lemmy.world 12 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He reined over a period of drought, but there's no way he could have controlled the weather. That's like blaming the government for there being car accidents. Simba exploited the working and noble classes into thinking that Scar was to blame for natural cycles. Thus he was able to lead a rebellion against their best interests and restored his line to the monarchy. Upper nobles playing everyone else against each other but, at the end of the day, the monarchical status quo was maintained. Feudalism in action.

Lion king did not explicitly say Scar did not have a weather machine so i choose to believe scar has a weather machine.

Did you use some artistic liberty on those guns?

[–] HowAbt2morrow@futurology.today 11 points 3 months ago

and he obviously skips leg day

[–] samus12345@lemm.ee 17 points 3 months ago

Starching? That's a new one for me.

[–] leraje@lemmy.blahaj.zone 14 points 3 months ago

I'm guessing Dad is a big Queen fan.

[–] Halosheep@lemm.ee 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

My dude skipped too many leg days

[–] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 9 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago) (2 children)

Hah! I think we're only seeing one leg from a profile angle though. The seam down the side of the jeans gives the appearance of two twig legs. If the artist had added a sliver of rear leg, it'd probably read better, e.g.:

[–] the_grass_trainer@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He did, but it's too dark to notice unless you look a bit hard at the image.

[–] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Oh damn, you're right, I didn't see that! It blends in almost entirely on my monitor. I can see it more now that I'm on my phone.

...Perhaps an excuse to finally buy an OLED monitor...?

[–] Halosheep@lemm.ee 4 points 3 months ago

I definitely interpreted the seam as two legs but your version has some extra oumph

[–] GooberEar@lemmy.wtf 5 points 3 months ago

KAPOW Mr. Kitty

[–] Jubei_K_08@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

The lion got cocky and dropped its guard long enough to allow that kinda full-send cross.

[–] absGeekNZ@lemmy.nz 2 points 3 months ago

Next minute, the lion grabs his arm, tears it from the shoulder and proceeds to crush his skull in its jaws.

The lion lies down after its light snack.

[–] TempermentalAnomaly@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

Like a high school freshman party, that's a weak punch.

[–] masquenox@lemmy.world -2 points 3 months ago

Soooo... your solution to your kid's fears is animal abuse?
