It's this that takes him from fence-sitting to "the country is finished"?

“We’re going to have to look at judges.”

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 7 points 1 hour ago

The judiciary has already failed.

Thank you. This is why social media is not journalism, even (especially?) when it’s saying what you already want to hear.

Patch cables are stranded, spool cable is solid. Spool is good for between jacks and patch panels, less good for crimping RJ45 ends onto.

If we ever wrest control back from these ghouls, there are a shit-ton of things that need codifying.

While this is absolutely true, it is not a good idea to make felony conviction a disqualification from holding office. Look at who's controlling DoJ right now, and there are plenty of states that will follow that lead. Making it so that a felony conviction disqualifies a person from holding office is just a roadmap for corruption to follow in order to maintain control.

That's because there aren't any.

Nah, Colorado was handling it appropriately, then SCOTUS stepped in and told a state that they're not allowed to administer elections in their state.

If you bought one of those idiotic cars, you knew.

We the Builders aims to explain why DOGE’s data access matters.

This is resistance, and this kind is risky. I know that not very many people will see this, but if you are a person who knows or suspects the identity of any of the people doing this kind of thing, no you don't.

Resist.

Law enforcement officials are searching for a suspect after a Tesla dealership was damaged by gunshots in Salem, Oregon, on Wednesday.

This is not my favorite source article, but it does clear up something that's been getting passed around.

Yes, someone shot up a Tesla dealership in Salem, OR, a couple days ago. Yes, this is the same dealership that had one of its cars set ablaze on Jan 20, 2025.

However, this shooting is being conflated with a sticker that says "Kill Elon".

The "name tag" style sticker with "Kill Elon" inscribed on it was not at either Salem, OR, incident. That was a separate thing done by protesters in New York. That's why I chose this article to post, because it refers to that.

(For legal reasons, we cannot recommend this kind of action be undertaken, planned, threatened, encouraged, etc. Definitely do not do anything like this.)

This is the site that 50501 uses for its event organizing. Pretty easy to filter by location and date.

Mobilizon is the underlying platform, and it's federated, so that's nice.

HOLD UP! CAREFUL! The download size has been marked at 68.00GB, and the actual download size just changed to 30.7GB. I had started downloading, saw it said 68GB, went on with my browsing while it ran. My browser screen just flickered, I saw a bigger sliver of "done" than I though was possible, and now it's 30.7GB. Restarting from the linked page, same thing.

So they've changed the file that was previously there. No idea why. Somehow malicious? Maybe? Realized that they uploaded something they hadn't intended to?

Critics accuse the company of wielding outsized private influence on public policing.

And and -- Knowing as much as you can about how police are trained may be very useful.

President Donald Trump on Monday pardoned Rod Blagojevich, the former Illinois governor who was convicted and sentenced to prison on corruption charges surrounding his time in office.

“It was a sort of a terrible injustice,” Trump said. “They just were after him. They go after a lot of people. These are bad people, the other side.”

Of note, those corruption charges stemmed from Blagojevich very openly trying to sell Obama's vacant US Senate seat in Illinois after the 2008 election.

This group seems sus. Prove me wrong.

This is not an endorsement of this group.

Just the opposite. Posting this now before I do a deep dive on who and what this group is about. Will update later.

Carlos Álvarez-Aranyos is the guy behind this. A 2017 article tells a very amazing story of this uber-successful adventurer entreprenuer.

Curiously, Radical Artist's Agency out of Arvado, CO, has a short resume for a "Carlos Alvarez-Aranyos".

The posted site makes it sound like this American Opposition place was behind the Feb 5 protests ... but that was 50501, right?

Interestingly, r/50501 seems on board, but without any mod commentary there.

I have no idea how one could find this out.

An "unannounced demonstration" by Nazis ends when upstanding citizens push past police, steal a Nazi flag, and set it on fire. The Nazis leave, and the resisters are not arrested.

These people were just going about their day, and it was important to enough people to stop and get directly involved. They took on risks of bodily harm and arrest. I'm willing to bet that none of them were "prepared" for the confrontation.
