This is the guy who fought against the gangs to protect his parents, then had to flee to the US as a refugee to avoid retaliation from them. Now he's been sent into a locked facility where these same people have been incarcerated and tortured.

I don't know that any further action will be required of the US government to end his life. I'm surprised he isn't dead yet. Maybe someone is bargaining with him.

All they have to do is stall things long enough. Then what'll it be? A wrongful death suit? Years more torture for family and community.

I think if you want a quick way to stop wasting water on grass, it's a reasonable choice. Personally I think patio stones or pebbles/gravel is classier, but probably more expensive and time consuming to put in.

In response to the snottiness about clover and other groundcover, I'll mention that is illegal in some places to do this. https://www.msn.com/en-us/home-and-garden/landscaping/can-you-be-fined-for-having-an-overgrown-lawn/ar-BB1reOrr The presence of "weeds" can get you fined! I have friends who lives in a totally normal, non-HOA, working class area where you must have grass. To be fair I'm not sure if plastic grass would cut it but if that's the only alternative, plastic would be better. It takes crazy water to maintain the grass, not to mention re-sodding every few years and everyone ends up with their own mower.

Stupid law or none, not everyone has the time or wherewithall to be a nerd gardener. Until we have funded landscaping coops able to go around and maintain properties of those who have other priorities there is no reason to cast aspersions just because it doesn't meet with your aesthetic tastes. There's plastic all over the ground; one lawn isn't going to make matters much worse.

I'd like a study of how many pollsters think it's OK to ask about murdering the president.

Graph over time please.

Imagine attending class somewhere where the orange and blue on white branding was so pervasive. Those kids are fucked.

The thread of confidence unites them.

I'd say not always but you should interpret it in context for the situation.

Having no demands is a criticism against many loose oppositional groups. In some ways its hard to see how they would have "a demand" because they aren't an organization. They are a transient mass unified by sentiment.

Its not impossible to have such an even on the road to a productive outcome. But in this case I'm very skeptical.

The first incident took place in Eugene, Oregon in the United States when Luers and Craig Marshall planted crude delay devices for an attempted arson of trucks at the Tyree Oil Company. The two placed a section of cloth, which was draped over a gallon milk jug filled with a fuel and soap mixture, in the fuel tank of a double-trailer fuel truck. According to authorities, the potential blast could have caused damage over two city blocks.[4][5]

On June 16, 2000, he set fire to three light trucks at Romania Chevrolet dealership suspectedly via the use of bombs, in Eugene as a protest against excessive consumption and global warming, along with Craig "Critter" Marshall, who was sentenced to five and a half years in prison. The arson destroyed three pickup trucks including a 2000 Silverado.[6] Luers might have received a comparable sentence if he had not been convicted of an earlier attempted arson as well.[7] Luers was initially sentenced to 22 years, 8 months in prison.[8] Supporters argued that his sentence was excessive, because no one was injured and property damage was estimated at only $40,000[8][9]

The series depicts the history of Black Canadian and African-American men who worked as Pullman porters in the period following World War I, leading to the 1925 creation of the Brotherhood of Sleeping Car Porters as the first Black-led labour union.[8][5] Much of the setting for the series is the St. Antoine neighborhood a Black community of Montreal.[9]

It's pretty decent. The main criticism I'm seeing online is that it was too Canadian.
