Leftists are terminally online and insignificant and their opinions don't matter. innocence

Leftists are so powerful that their votes were the sole deciding factor in the election. unlimited-power

They’ve been saying that for like 3 straight electoral losses. Meanwhile pro-Palestinian protesters were being brutalized and having their rights violated under Biden and Adams.

[–] Belly_Beanis@hexbear.net 64 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Biden couldn't even protect the rights of cis shit WASP women with Roe v. Wade getting repealed lmao....why do libs think they can fool us into believing they'll protect the rights of people lower on the hierarchy?

[–] Thordros@hexbear.net 46 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The Senate Pastafarian said abortions are uncivil. There's nothing to be done. We have to abide norms and decorum or we're no better than Nazis. 😔

[–] PKMKII@hexbear.net 18 points 2 days ago

First they came for legislation not coming to the floor for a vote unless it was approved by 2/3s of the relevant subcommittee and 1/2 of the budget subcommittee.

OOP says if the election were between someone who wants to kill their mom and someone who wants to kill both of their parents, they would vote to kill their mom and then blame non-voters for them killing OOP's dad.

When asked if OOP would then vote for trans concentration camps if the other candidate was worse, they dodged the question and said it would be fine - they'd vote in the primaries first.

Idk about y'all but I would challenge the legitimacy of this government if the only options involved killing my parents rather than go, "Aw shucks, sorry, mom! Lesser evil! This is how things are and ways will be! Anyone who doesn't vote to kill you is the real villain here!"

What this world truly needs is more pragmatic mom-killers!!!

I, a very serious real voter, voted for Kamala in the primaries.

[–] ClimateStalin@hexbear.net 26 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yeah that would have a lot more fucking weight if there had been a democratic primary, but there fucking wasn’t

If trans people are always 1 electoral loss away from being put in camps, maybe US "democracy" isn't the bastion of freedom and human perfection blue MAGA like to claim it is. Maybe the whole fucking system should be destroyed if it is this volatile.

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 1 day ago

Apparently they may have gone far enough for goat to remove them as a mod. I mean I doubt it since they agree with so much much but got goat actually willing to look

I like how in the mind of liberals the communist vote is what decides elections. As if we all were Kamala pilled and voted for her she wouldnt have still lost. They just keep running really shitty candidates nobody likes and getting mad people say bad things about them and they lose lol. Bourgeoise "democracies" have forgotten how theyre supposed to work. The candidates are supposed to lie, and say they'll do things that are popular so people vote for them. Insisting that everyone should vote for someone despite them being a literal demon is not how it works lol.

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 40 points 2 days ago (3 children)

PugJesus was citing a poll that supposedly showed that if all voters who stayed home because of the Gaza genocide had voted for Harris, she would've won. The poll showed that out of 19 million voters that voted for Biden in 2020 but not Harris in 2024, the top reason for 19% of them was Gaza. That's 5.5 million votes nationwide. I did the math, and the margin in favor of Republicans among the swing states they won in 2024^[Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin] was 761,000 votes. So while it's possible that enough of those 5.5 million votes were in those states particularly, I would posit that it's more likely that people stayed home outside of swing states, not in swing states, so he has to do more work to prove his point.

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 60 points 2 days ago (4 children)

Additional point: IMO leftists in the US shouldn't shy away from taking responsibility for Harris losing. If your votes cost her the election, then you should use that as evidence that you have leverage over the party, and your votes are necessary for them to win, so they should stop committing genocide. I see too many people in this thread and the linked thread running away from that accusation when, insofar as the left should engage in electoralism, wrecking liberal candidates' campaigns by demanding that they cede ground to the left is one of the most productive things we can achieve anyway. If they don't give us the basic things by voting, just remember, ballot or the bullet.

[–] ClimateStalin@hexbear.net 36 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yeah I’m fine with taking that idea as fact, which means it’s Kamala’s fault for not listening to the people who said unless they stop doing genocide she would lose

[–] miz@hexbear.net 39 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

here's her response during the campaign when someone asked her if Gaza could cost her the election

repeats the genocide-enabling r*pe lie even as the zionists were systematically r*ping detainees and even rioting for the "right" to r*pe said detainees

[–] Grerkol@leminal.space 28 points 2 days ago (2 children)

the first and most tragic story is October 7

[–] PKMKII@hexbear.net 22 points 2 days ago

Nakba? Is that the shit with the honey and sesame seed paste?

[–] ClimateStalin@hexbear.net 34 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Also even if it were true, which it isn’t, that still doesn’t excuse Israel committing genocide.

That shit pisses me off. They try to excuse their own actions by lying about someone else’s actions and the lie doesn’t even excuse anything!

“There were Hamas tunnels under the hospital” that’s still a war crime!!! Hamas having tunnels under a hospital wouldn’t give you the right to bomb the hospital!

Like, the legal obligation of the Israeli Military on and after October 7th, according to international law, was to lay down their arms and give Hamas all of their demands. Israel is an occupying power. Occupying powers have no right to defend themselves, and occupied peoples have the right to resist occupation by “all available means”.

I fucking hate these people, they’re evil, but they’re also fucking liars.

The only electoral politics I hold is that the democrats should eat shit in elections until they learn to move left

[–] crosswind@hexbear.net 24 points 2 days ago (1 children)

When that poll came out, it was posted here to show that supporting genocide cost Harris the election, and a lib came in to debunk it with your argument about swing states (from what I remember, the swing state numbers change things somewhat, but not as strongly as they were claiming).

We're really going to keep having this same argument, over and over, from both directions, and libs will freely switch to whatever side makes the leftists wrong.

[–] FunkyStuff@hexbear.net 25 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yeah there's a simple solution here

Evidence shows leftists cost Kamala the election: Good, the dems should be afraid of us, we have more power so we can make substantial demands.

Evidence shows leftists didn't affect elections: Fine, keep building the left, forget national elections, localize the intifada

You're supposed to at least try to fool people into believing that the government operates with the consent of the governed.

I'm so fucking tired of the term 'leftist'

[–] john_brown@hexbear.net 61 points 2 days ago

"the Democrats just always have to win every election instead of passing laws to protect marginalized groups" and other absolutely insane thoughts from liberals

"You promoted fascism by not voting."

"I voted for Claudia De La Cruz."

"You wasted your vote and promoted fascism."

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 21 points 2 days ago

but Democrats are not owed a vote

I’m so glad you decided that Blue Circus wasn’t OWED your vote, so letting minorities be genocided is an okay consequences you’re willing to live with.

Jesus fucking christ THE DEMS WERE ALREADY GENOCIDING MINORITIES BEFORE THE 2024 ELECTION YOU SHITHEAD matt-jokerfied

[–] VibeCoder@hexbear.net 44 points 2 days ago

The idea that there’s an electoral loss standing between us and camps is hilarious. As if Trump’s waiting for his third term to really stick it to us or something.

[–] Ferrous@lemmy.ml 33 points 2 days ago

This is the same "vaguely leftist" person who simultaneously rails on PSL for their stance on Russia Ukraine conflict, and not an hour later goes on his bizarre Civil War comm and hails William Sherman is their "patron saint".

[–] Hestia@hexbear.net 40 points 2 days ago (8 children)

There’s absolutely nothing to indicate that PJ is trans themselves, I’m tired of libs pretending as if they represent us and are willing to fight for us.

[–] AnarchoAnarchist@hexbear.net 28 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

You would think someone concerned with LBGTQIA lives would more strongly oppose the wholesale murder of hundreds of thousands, which statistically includes literally thousands of innocent trans, gay, queer people.

But. Those people are brown and Muslim coded. So fuck them I guess.

Neolibs bragging about how noble and moral they are for voting baby-murdering cops

Also wasn't that OP a transphobe who intentionally misgenderes people with neo-pronouns, or was that someone else? very nice of him to pretend to care about us trans folk

My favorite thing to ask them is "What are you doing to help, aside from being annoying online?"

They never really have an answer aside from "I'm raising awareness!" or "What? Do you expect me to die for your revolution?"

yes, it was noble and moral not to vote for genocide. luckily shitass liberals are ready to pretend this bloodsoaked settler-colony has never had camps before

[–] AnarchoBolshevik@lemmygrad.ml 11 points 2 days ago

Leftists rejecting bourgeois democracy are telling transgender people how to act in top-grossing, anti-Jewish torture porn…? Interesting analogy.

Seriously though, participating in bourgeois democracy did not prevent atrocities in Germany, and there is no good reason to believe that it will prevent atrocities now. If the upper classes won’t respect the elections in other countries, they certainly won’t respect the ones established at home.

WHY DON’T I HAVE… A FIRST… DRAFT… OF… THE MACCABEES‽ WHAT THE FUCK HAVE YOU BEEN DOING‽
