A lot of people fearing they might also get "randomly" murdered because somebody shot their CEO makes for a fucking terrible judicial argument as per terror charges. Like I'm sure it'll fly but that's just a precedent for everything being terrorism now, you just gotta find enough scared suburbians 30 miles away to attest that they all feel like they're next because they saw it on the news to prove this was terrorism.

That's been the entire point drumming up fear about Terrorism since the term was coined. Anything done to disturb the status quo will always be labeled as terrorism by those in power

porky-happy "change comes through elections and we fully control the elections. now shut up and make me some money!"

[–] BeamBrain@hexbear.net 40 points 3 days ago

Imagine identifying more with a millionaire CEO ghoul than his victims

Couldn't be me

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 26 points 3 days ago

How many degrees of abstraction before you land on a terrorism charge is pretty much the entire criminal justice system at this point, I guess.

[–] plinky@hexbear.net 22 points 3 days ago

But that's exactly what terror is supposed to be ira

Funnily enough, after that CEO got iced a bunch of Libs online kept posting about how the real culprit for rising healthcare costs are providers not insurers.

Okay, so I guess I should go shoot my pediatrist?

[–] RNAi@hexbear.net 95 points 3 days ago

"Yes, but that's good, you do understand that's good for society, right?"

[–] ANarcoSnowPlow@hexbear.net 90 points 3 days ago

Imagine thinking that evil people being scared to do evil shit is a bad thing.

UHC employees were afraid to sign letters denying insurance coverage

good, they should be

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 81 points 3 days ago

[–] jackmaoist@hexbear.net 57 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Luigi straight up saved thousands of lives by just one action. Now imagine how many lives can be saved when we kill more CEO's

[–] Nay 1 points 3 days ago (3 children)

Sounds good! Show us how it's done... Unless of course you just want "other people" to do it.

[–] WhatDoYouMeanPodcast@hexbear.net 58 points 3 days ago (1 children)

It's all "right to work" and "you don't like it? Leave" until it doesn't benefit them.

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 29 points 3 days ago (1 children)

New bit: Sue the porks for their failure to make enough jobs despite having the wealth to do so because they are denying the masses “the right to work”.

[–] Lyudmila@hexbear.net 15 points 3 days ago (1 children)

One application, one job. Demanding qualifications is discrimination.

sicko-fem "Hello yes, I am applying for your position."

"Okay, here's your ID badge and first paycheck. Thanks for the promotion, queen!" sicko-wholesome

[–] WhatDoYouMeanPodcast@hexbear.net 14 points 3 days ago (1 children)

If you get at least 100 applicants on a listing and don't accept 1 in a month, that's an extra % paid in taxes that year.

[–] Lyudmila@hexbear.net 14 points 3 days ago

100 applicants, 100 hired employees for that position.

Fuck it, we have 17 CEOs now.

[–] SoyViking@hexbear.net 49 points 3 days ago

Terrorism is when you are too scared to kill for money

[–] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 45 points 3 days ago (1 children)

If that's the bar for terrorism, there are millions of people afraid their insurance will not cover routine or life saving procedures.

That's 'terrorism' then, right?

[–] crusa187@lemmy.ml 29 points 3 days ago

No, not like that!

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 42 points 3 days ago

Publishing ‘Killing CEO terrorized entire company into doing good things’ just to nail this one dude is not the win they think this is

[–] merthyr1831@lemmy.ml 31 points 3 days ago (2 children)

They're gonna make this a show trial arent they

[–] Azarova@hexbear.net 26 points 3 days ago

Absolutely. That insane perp walk was the confirmation of that.

[–] Lussy@hexbear.net 9 points 3 days ago

Possibly the most asinine and detached decision any party has ever made. They are going to lose that show.

phoenix-evidence "From the effect on other employees to the reduction in claim denials and stock price, it is clear that Luigi's acts were terrorism!

phoenix-bashful ...ack, damn Patriot Act mandated auto-correct...

phoenix-smug Terrific! Luigi's acts were terrific!"

Why would you be afraid of retribution? Are you doing a particularly evil job? Because if you're not, then I don't see what you have to be afraid of.

[–] redsteel@lemmygrad.ml 12 points 3 days ago

The attempt to intimidate the industry [...] provides sufficient support for the terror enhancement.

But 17 year olds peacocking around with semi-auto rifles and murdering people who react with hostility to their presence, roving bands of unaccountable militia brownshirt squads itching to mag dump into protestor gatherings, endless mass social murder and suffering inflicted by global megacorps as directed by people like the dead CEO... none of those things were ever terrorism, of course.
