I watched a recent interview in which Weiner defended congressional stock purchases and insider trading. His argument was that it isn’t how congresscritters get rich; that they get rich through connections instead.
So his new angle seems to be: “I’m a politician, I know the game, and I will use my experience for good and not evil”
That reminds me of Ezra Klein and the other "abundance" assholes. Their argument is regulations are the problem. And if the assholes get the backing of huge American corporations like Microsoft and Walmart - the corporations will work with the assholes for good and not evil. As if this top-down stuff could actually benefit the public. And I guess some dems will push this hard and abundance will be part of dem messaging. And Klein, etc will say corporations and governments have started working together so it's working!
I hope that shit doesn't snowball. But it probably will.
