I blocked all the German instances because I couldn't understand them anyway.

Edit:

Apparently a solution to the problem offends them lmao, didn't realize me seeing posts I can't comprehend was so important to these goofballs.

I don't have time energy or fucks to give when it comes to that sorry, it's nothing against German I took German in highschool but I'm not trying to do that just so I can doomscroll in another language

谢谢!I just learned to use “应该” from you haha. I wouldn’t mind seeing more random Chinese around here!

多好的主意 !

我本来打算学一些德语,但是,我也懂英语,我当看到你的 Username 的时候,我也在想:“这管你屁事?”

还有,我没有用翻译的软件。

(I was going to learn some German, but, I also know English, and when I saw your Username, I was thinking: "This is none of your bussiness"

Also, I did not use translation tools for this, can you say the same?)

😉

You have just made an enemy for life or until I get bored of it.

[–] Zaphod@discuss.tchncs.de 5 points 1 day ago

As a German, completely understandable

[–] Peter_Arbeitslos@feddit.org 20 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Sadly I'm not allowed to speak English since it's forbidden by the German-ich_iel-internet-law, also known as Sprich Deutsch du Hurensohn.

Artikuliere auf deutsch, du Sohn einer Fachfrau für Selbstvermarktung

[–] hakunawazo@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

That's German humour

[–] Hubi@feddit.org 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You're missing out on the English communities on the German instances then.

[–] Rogueostrich@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Maybe but I think I'll be ok not wading through hundreds of posts I can't understand, I wouldn't expect someone who doesn't understand English to do it with American posts.

If that's how someone else wants to spend their time more power to them, I do not have time for that unfortunately.

[–] Peter_Arbeitslos@feddit.org 11 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You can just block German communities.

[–] Rogueostrich@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

An I see there has been a miscommunication. I do block communities not entire instances I'm not actually aware of a way to block the whole thing I tried to do it to the furries but I didn't see a way so I had to do it one by one, I'm not a Lemmy pro I just use Voyager and scroll it like it's reddit since it's better.

[–] Hubi@feddit.org 4 points 1 day ago

Not sure where the setting is on Voyager, but there is an instance filter in the profile settings in the browser. It blocks all posts from the instance, but not the users or comments in other communities.

[–] WhiteHotaru@feddit.org 2 points 1 day ago

You could just set your language to English only.

[–] LumpyPancakes@lemm.ee 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I did the same. Will do until the apps integrate translation.

[–] Kecessa@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Will do until I get bored with Lemmy altogether

Come on, loss is so over.

Tja, keine Maimais für dich du doofmann

[–] LesserAbe@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Google translates this as "no mail for you" is that correct? Does mail here mean any kind of communication?

I do like learning "doofmann" since where I'm from you might call someone a doof if they're stupid.

[–] Hubi@feddit.org 3 points 1 day ago

Doof is German for dumb, so the meaning seems to transcend languages.

[–] nichtburningturtle@feddit.org 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

There is a typo. It's supposed to mean "no memes for you."

[–] Peter_Arbeitslos@feddit.org 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Was sind diese "memes"?
