De minimus was originally intended so you don't have to pay tariffs on little $10 goodies you got while travelling. Then they raised it to $800 cause why not?
Dropshipping basically relies on this, US is about to go from probably the highest de minimus in the world to nothing.

America (and other places) should probably put an "adjusted for inflation" thing on any dollar amount appearing in a law
