I'd like to preface this with an open encouragement for people who find my behaviour uncomfortable to simply block me. I will most likely block people who post "vol"cel police from now on, because it triggers my queer trauma.

I'm motivated to write this after I went around my apartment hiding my fairy lights, my fuzzy bathroom rug, my flower scented deodorant and other stuff which might out me as gay to the workers who will come today to install my Internet and lamps. I do not want to risk getting attacked or having someone sabotage my home due to homophobia.

The society hates queer sexualities. They want us neutered or at the very least scared into silence. There is no "vol"cel police when it's not voluntary. And memeing queer people into silence about our sexualities if frankly homophobic and I have to get it off my chest, because it's eating me up and perhaps other people too who may lack the ability to articulate it or are scared to speak up in fear of repreccussions.

I am queer. My sexuality is queer. I am an ally to ace people and if they find my queer behaviour uncomfortable, I'm happy for them to block me. But I also identified as ace incorrectly for myself, because I was so systematically stigmatized for it my depression and fear were neutering me. I will not be silenced. I went to liberal "queer" spaces where I had my very tame messages banned, I literally had "tfw no top bf" banned in a space which wasn't designated for minors, because "top refers to a sexual position". My queer sexuality is a sexuality. I find cocks and balls hot. I am not sorry for that, even though my first instinct was to write "sorry" after that statement. I've been apologizing for my existence my entire life, still do, but I know I shouldn't and I feel really bad having to explain this in a supposedly queer friendly space. Again, if my open queerness makes you uncomfortable, use the block button. You can literally use one click not to see me. It's as easy as this. But don't you dare to silence my queerness. Yes, it's sexual. No, again, I will not apologize for it. Hell, literally all of the posts I've made which received the volcel police response were made with 0 horny. I go years without feeling any kind of horny from exhaustion, depression and fear. I got scared out of my home by homophobes, got kicked out by homophobes, very likely got denied housing by homophobes who merely will not tell me the reason. I am visibly queer. People can tell hearing me speak, seeing me move, seeing how I look like, including my anatomy. I'm not here to discuss the prejudice people face based on looks. It's just how it is. The prejudice I experience isn't based off of gender roles. It's based off of homophobia. Homophobes can tell us and will act upon them identifying us. Sometimes their identification is misplaced, but they act upon it all the same. They don't care if you're a masc gay. They hate you for being gay. Gayness or queerness is the true reason behind the hatred. And I will not hide mine nor be gaslight into hiding it by homophobia disguised as a meme.

I wish all unapologetic queer people a very good day and homophobes hiding behind memes a very mediocre day. If you try to gaslight me, I will probably just block you, because I'm tired of homophobes thinking they're hiding when they're in plain sight.

I genuinely cannot see how anarchism could work large scale, but there are anarchist spaces: anarchist communes. I think after a leftist revolution the world would be generally communist, but there would be independent anarchist communes. I think that'd be a true way anarchists and communists could coexist in reality. Alongside one another but not forced to abandon their political stances.

Why? So I or someone else can use https://browse.feddit.de/ to find any interesting communities they may have and opt us in. I'm adding us into tons of cool leftism related stuff, but there may be some I miss. A list of who we are opted in with would help, as any announcement when we opt into another instance in the future. I am happy to do the work, I just need to have some extra knowledge to do it more efficiently.

I've been working for over three 3 years in the game industry as a QA, but previously only for two huge names and now for a medium sized one. I've never done indie. I tried hitting up indie devs when I saw issues offering free help, but they were never interested. I was wondering if there was a more organized form where I could seek either low paid or even volunteer positions. Since I ditched mass platforms such as YouTube, I have more time on my hands and was thinking it may be a way to use it.

I find myself accidentally leaving Lemmy. The icon marking an outbound link isn't very noticeable depending on the image it loads behind it and the amount of user brain activity (for me it's extraordinarily low when scrolling).

Bike is estimated 20 minutes one way to work, public transport takes 30-40 minutes estimated, but in reality can be over an hour. I really want a bike, I'm waiting for landlord to finish renovations so I have space to store it without a risk of it getting damaged or being in the way of the workers.

Is it safe to go immediately to driving 20 minutes one way x2 a day Monday-Friday? I walk quite a lot, but I know cycling engages some other muscle groups. I need to cancel my public transport ticket to afford this endeavour, but I'm hyped to better my body, health AND save time.

I'm not big on travel, because I'm poor and haven't been on trip-holidays since I was a small child, however, I'd like to visit a commie country during my lifetime. Anyone knows if there are any communist organized trips? I don't want to fund libs. Also, I'm very sad with how expensive flights to China are. I fear I'll never get to visit. :(

I think it's one feature missing from all the text-based websites. I do not watch videos at all. I use text-based media because I cannot interact with else than text and images. It would further improve the speed at which you load the website and improve content quality for all the other people who do not interact with video content. By adding this we'd set a much higher experience standard for users.

Sometimes what you want is not what you need. :( Now I feel bad over spending money on something I cannot use. ;_;

I can load an entire website with videos and then load videos in 720p, but I cannot load my inbox with one notification. It should be a miniscule amount of data. I was wondering how the data downloads are being parted. Unread and All seem to be separate based on the loading icon, but are they also separate in regards to downloading them? Is the inbox being partially cached or not? Do pages get downloaded separately or do you pre-download other pages?

Either way, I feel like a way to counter it may be if users were given the option to disable downloading media unless clicked on. Maybe add an option to disable avatars too. I've seen some users having animated avatars and I wonder how much of a download that causes for me. I mainly use Lemmy on the go so on mobile Internet and I won't lie, it's been a struggle at times.
