It’s paywalled. But doesn’t your browser have a translation feature? I’d welcome more non-English language news myself, to see a bit more actual (and more varied) EU journalism.
Naja, er hätte schon ein Paar kleine Forderungen stellen wollen, nämlich dass er nur schöne Bilder schießen muss. Jetzt wird leider auf ihn geschossen.
In the Netherlands the actual railways are owned by a separate company that was split from NS after privatisation, ProRail.
Railway competition is bullshit anyway. Neoliberal ideology pretends people constantly make informed decisions about what products they wish to buy. This is bullshit anyway, but with the railways especially. If you want to take the train to a specific place and arrive at a specific time, you will pretty much always have one option anyway. There is no choice. All the so-called ‘competition’ will do, is split up a currently contiguous network, which will probably introduce needless transfers to different train companies, where you currently have one.
So-called ‘competition’ is a disaster for what should be a public service like the railways.
National rail can be (at least) perfectly decent, which it is in the Netherlands. Too bad the EU wants to have it be fucked up by ‘competition’: the European Commission just now sued the Dutch state for giving the consession for the main part of the railway network to the national rail company NS.
Was für Lied wird da gespielt?
It scares me that the center is moving ever more to the (far) right all over Europe. At least this is also happening in the Netherlands, where the supposedly (center) right VVD, after attempting a cabinet with the extreme right PVV, is now pretending the PVV is as dangerous as PvdA-Groenlinks (socdem/green, actually center left).
Meanwhile, VVD’s leader Yeşilgöz has accused a singer who wanted to play music at a jewish football competition, but then when he arrived there refused as there were stands in favour of zionism, of antisemitism and ‘hatred of jews’. Of course the singer then got lots of death threats, and he left the country for a while. Yeşilgöz didn’t apologise.
Asylum seekers are now also broadly seen as the cause of all problems. The center going extreme like this seems like a major warning sign...
As someone who likes inane bullshit (Time Cube), I do prefer it if people write it themselves instead of pulling it from the bullshitting machine.
This is a great safety feature! Instead of printing the bills, have them all be drawn by hand one after another by you! I hope you like repetitive work.
Eh, this annoying ‘it’s too difficult for those primitive ancient humans, so aliens’ claim happens for Stonehenge as well, I’m pretty sure.
I really hate how these dumb myths deny that humans have been able to build great and complex structures for a long time too, though.
Where did I say it does? I’m arguing that the article being in French shouldn’t be a bad thing per se.
