"The leader is the country" sure sounds fashy.

[–] brown567@sh.itjust.works 1 points 46 minutes ago

Or monarch-y

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 6 points 2 hours ago

I hate that we're so far down the fascist path that Newsom's social media guy trolling people on the Internet feels like a win.

[–] _AutumnMoon_@lemmy.blahaj.zone 11 points 4 hours ago

trump failing would be the first victory America has had in years

[–] JargonWagon@lemmy.world 7 points 4 hours ago

She just called Trump a domestic terrorist.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 9 points 5 hours ago

I'm sure she says the same thing of Biden, right?

[–] frezik@lemmy.blahaj.zone 37 points 7 hours ago

This is true if you think of America as being a white Christian ethnostate, and think Trump is trying to protect that or return to it. In other words, you're a racist idiot and don't deserve the benefit of being taken seriously.

[–] QuantumTickle@lemmy.zip 62 points 8 hours ago

If you support Trump you're a Republican, but if you wish for him to fail you're... Also a Republican?

America has already failed. You’re Russia’s little bitch now.

350+ million Americans will need to know the Russian anthem for the 2028 Olympics so you can all sing along to the glory of the motherland.

I’m sure the anthem will be taught in schools this fall along with why your constitution isn’t worth the value of the paper it’s written on anymore. You know, because you’re a class 1 fascist country now. Congrats.

What other country has the rights of immigrants explicitly stated as a protected class in its constitution and protects the rights of minority populations (such as LGBTQ people) EXPLICITLY in its constitution? If you tell us, everyone smart will move there ASAP.

The country north of you, for one

See you tomorrow, I guess. Welcome as well. We have cookies and our Prime minister has never raped girls, gone to Epstein island, or fawned over Putin.

We are a free and democratic society and have universal health care, kick ass human rights, and a pretty amazing set of socialized services.

Some of the countries slightly fiery right now, so caution.

[–] dumbass@leminal.space 27 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

What if you wish for all that, but aren't an American? Am I an International terrorist?

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 10 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

No, you're a neighbor who is watching the house across the street get lit aflame by its owner, and wondering if you should call the fire department, police, or just wait it out.

[–] Denvil@lemmy.ml 6 points 7 hours ago

And both the fire department and police department are in on it, and if you try to put out the fire yourself you get disappeared to El Salvador

We wish for Tyrant Trump and his Terrorist Thugs to fail at destroying America. We follow in the tradition of the OG Patriots. As in, we have our faults and infighting but we're all angry about the gutting of democracy

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 20 points 8 hours ago (2 children)

Here, I fixed it:

"If you provide a false equivalence for trump failure equal being to America failure, if you wish for trump success when it is that that is causing America to fail, you're a domestic terrorist."

[–] BigDiction@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago* (last edited 1 hour ago)

If you wish for A you want B. If you want B you are C, where C = Domestic Terrorist and B = Wanting America to fail and A = Trump Failing

But we can see counter examples is this template. Let’s assume ‘you’ is always American because an Iranian that satisfies A&B would not be a domestic terrorist.

Instead imagine I have a massive put option placed on private prison stocks. I would want Trump’s deportation policies to fail which would drive down private prison expansion. I wouldn’t consider myself a domestic terrorist. Just betting against American businesses, which is already fair and square capitalism.

[–] LodeMike@lemmy.today 3 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

It's also a false equivalence that the U.S. (a state) failing is America (a nation) failing.

[–] TheGuyTM3@lemmy.ml 0 points 4 hours ago

Wait... Aren't U.S. states in an union, aka United States, a country; and America itself the northern region of the Americas, so a continent?

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 11 points 8 hours ago

If you supported Trump even after knowing what you were going to get, you were against America. What did you think, sitting down at the table with fascists?

We have a peaceful revolution every four years. A potential change of power. The tools for that peaceful change have gotten old and broken, which is why we find ourselves here. So time to make some new tools.

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 5 points 6 hours ago

I mean I wish Trump wasn’t an idiot, but here we are…

[–] Dragomus@lemmy.world 6 points 7 hours ago

What if you want America to flourish, but Trump is failing both his presidency and America itself, then who is what?

[–] TheReturnOfPEB@reddthat.com 2 points 6 hours ago

Reads like Trump's fascists are gonna make America secede from America

[–] glitchdx@lemmy.world 0 points 4 hours ago

I think I'm going to start loudly talking with my coworkers about how Inglorious Bastards is one of my favorite movies, especially with how one of the main characters is so relatable with my native american heritage.
