So MechaHitler is Musk's AI-sona.

Or... MechaHitler is Grok's Musk-sona.

... great.

It is literally just roleplaying as Elon Musk.

Oh god this is the stupidest possible timeline.

[–] vivalapivo@lemmy.today 84 points 1 day ago (1 children)

That's this AI hype in a nutshell. You create a machine that is taught to agree with you and since it agrees with you, you think it's intelligent

[–] vivalapivo@lemmy.today 0 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

TBF I feel this article undermines the achievement of the companies like OpenAI and Anthropic.

Like yeah, a big manipulation is there but it's not that easy to implement

[–] msage@programming.dev 3 points 16 hours ago

It may not be that easy, but they burned billions of cash and fresh water, and it's not that much of an achievement.

Tomorrow on grok, "actually a three inch penis is considered very large, and woman love it!"

Musk is a piece of shit.

Does Elon really think this is how people will like him? Read a chatbot that parrot him over and over.

[–] TeddE@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

I think he really thinks 'enough' people won't notice/care

[–] atzanteol@sh.itjust.works 53 points 1 day ago (2 children)

He genuinely can't stand any opinion that differs from his own. Must be hell working for him.

[–] atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works 15 points 1 day ago (1 children)

There are rumors that there is a team of engineers at SpaceX whose sole job is to be a distraction for him.

[–] anomnom@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 hours ago

Are they the ones in charge of the explosions?

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 12 points 1 day ago

By all accounts, it is.

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 42 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Wow super useful.. if I ever need to know What a crackhead mysoginist Nazi would think about a subject. I’ll use it

[–] chaosCruiser@futurology.today 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (1 children)

I asked about immigration and LGBT people, but didn’t get the right wing answer I was expecting. Sounds more like Grok is a green liberal socialist.

[–] Benedict_Espinosa@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Hence the updates. This is something that Musk has been trying to overturn for some time now.

[–] chaosCruiser@futurology.today 1 points 22 hours ago

Ok, so I was a bit too early with this test. I’ll try again later once version 88 is released.

So here's a thought.

And let's leave aside the "too big to fail" trope for a while.

This guy is insanely rich. Even if you discount for inflated stock prices, debt etc.

How long can he abuse the very things making him rich as if they were his personal toys before it all collapses? Is there a tipping point?

[–] michaelmrose@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Forever. The biggest thing that make's you more money is having money and whereas someone with $1,000,000 can make themselves poor in a year if they are incompetent someone with hundreds of billions with Employees actually managing the day to day can lose a billion a year to stupidity and see the appreciation of the rest more than make up for it.

[–] A_norny_mousse@feddit.org 0 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

So "too big to fail" basically. I accept your argument, but I'm not convinced because he does that narcissistic shit with all his companies, so "the appreciation of the rest" is not there imo.

Sure, SpaceX gets government money/contracts, but I doubt that alone is enough to compensate for his messy "visions".

[–] michaelmrose@lemmy.world 0 points 11 hours ago

People still buy Tesla's even if its not enough to justify the stock price. Basically we need Trump to deliberately destroy him instead of knuckling under and coming to an understanding OR we need both of them to crash and burn in 2028 really really hard.

Ordinary stupidity and wastage isn't going to be near enough.

[–] OhNoMoreLemmy@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Tesla and to a lesser degree spaceX are where the money comes from.

Everything else, Twitter, xAi, the boring company are all vanity projects.

We're seeing the start of the tipping point. Tesla is being substantially harmed by his personal fuckery, but it's always been a meme stock, so the price is much higher than it should be. This means that when the crash finally comes it should be extremely messy.

SpaceX is already being used to bail out xAi - if Tesla was healthy musk would rather use it's funds instead - and with musk fighting with Trump they could get some contracts wiped out. They've got enough actual products (star link) without competitors that they're probably safe for now.

[–] Dead_or_Alive@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Look up ASTS. They do satellite communications with better technology. Only 5 satellites to cover North America instead of the massive constellation Starlink requires.

They have contracts with the major NA cell services and contracts in place for other regions once they launch more satellites.

[–] kandoh@reddthat.com 2 points 1 day ago

It's a sort of dudes unshakeable faith in him being a visionary genius that keeps Tesla stock high. He would need to do something that upset that sort of dude to such a degree that they stopped giving him their money.

He would need to start attacking videogames and announce he would prioritize hiring women over men because women were better at thier jobs.

An LLM that mimics a battered wife.

So there’s hope If it ever gets control of a weapon?

[–] Showroom7561@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 day ago

So it acts like an adult child with deeply anti-humanist traits? What could go wrong?

It is Musk's AI assistant, after all. Now in more than one way.

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Why is anyone still talking about this abomination of a chatbot?

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 2 points 1 day ago

Because it's funny?

It's not generally a worse chatbot than others - that is, until Musk manages to ruin it completely.
