Move to another country. That's been my specific goal since November 6th.

Yep. For people who don't know... The reason the rate of left-handedness went up and then stabilized is that the actual rate was always that high, but the stigma against lefties caused most to force themselves to use their right hands for as much as they could.

Same goes for LGBTQ+ people. Except we're probably not at the plateau yet, and the orange fucknut is making it harder for them to come out.

Yes, but you see... Acknowledging reality is woke.

[–] kescusay@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

That's a very good point. And it makes me genuinely sick to my stomach.

So not quite a year... but not far off from it.

Motherfucker, you could impeach him right fucking now. You have no power only because you fucking cowards have put party so far above country that you're actively yielding all governmental power to a pair of fascists.

If I recall correctly, it was literally a full year of his "presidency."

Well sure. Trump literally does not care about the truth value of any word-like sounds that squirt from his facial sphincter. The algorithm running through his toupee support system works like this:

  1. Is it something the idiots who support me will buy, at least long enough for me to come up with the next distraction? (Y/N)
  2. If Y, say it. Say it a lot. Say it everywhere and anywhere.
  3. If N, accuse everyone else of saying it.

That's it. Whether it has any relationship to the truth, good or bad, never enters into it. He's not even as honest as a liar, because a liar has to at least care what the truth is. He truly, genuinely doesn't.

The Republican-controlled House and Senate could end this today. Like, right now. They could put a complete stop to it. They could remove Trump and Vance simultaneously, resulting in Mike Johnson - a total scumbag, but not one who wants to obliterate the United States - becoming the president.

Right now. They could do it right now. But they won't.

Literally have the opposite experience. Fought with my old Brother printer constantly. My Epson Ecotank is rock-solid.

I managed to get my trans kid a passport just before this shit started. We're working out how to emigrate right now, but at least his passport is in order. My heart breaks for trans people who weren't able to before this intentional chaos bullshit got underway.

Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) proposed an amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would allow President Trump to serve a third term in the White House so that the country “can sustain the bold leadership our nation so desperately needs.”

For the record, Trump is 78 years old. Assuming he survives and manages to stay in office, he would be 86 when we're finally rid of him.

I can't find any content from this user from which to access the famous three-dots menu to unban them, and the post that resulted in their ban is already long gone, so I can't do it from there.

Could an administrator please unban the user?

The end of an era in Eugene. :'(

WASHINGTON (AP) — The judge overseeing Donald Trump’s 2020 election interference case made public Friday a heavily redacted trove of documents that provide a small glimpse into the evidence prosecutors will present if the case ever goes to trial.

The nearly 1,900 pages of documents collected by special counsel Jack Smith’s team were initially filed under seal to help U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan decide what allegations can proceed to trial following the Supreme Court opinion in July that conferred broad immunity on former presidents for official acts they take in office.

That's gonna be some serious reading over the weekend.

I hate the fact that it's almost fall now, and we're seeing temperatures around 100 degrees fahrenheit and smoke from first fires. In September.

The Biden administration on Wednesday plans to accuse Russia of a sustained effort to influence the 2024 US elections by using Kremlin-run media and other online platforms to target US voters with disinformation, six sources familiar with the matter told CNN.

It’s expected the US will make a series of moves on Wednesday aimed at addressing the Kremlin’s efforts including the White House publicly condemning the actions and the Justice Department announcing law enforcement action targeting the covert Russian campaign, the sources said.

Just a heads up, there's a severe thunderstorm alert right now:
