next up: calling it a "concentration camp" is grounds to have your citizenship revoked

[–] DigitalTraveler42@lemmy.world 103 points 5 days ago (4 children)

Imagine getting murdered by the regime for saying "alligator auschwitz"

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 94 points 5 days ago (1 children)

take it seriously. fascist regimes wont' tolerate criticism, or mockery, or pointing out how fucking evil they are. the direction we're rapidly mimicking is north korea. btw fun fact: it's illegal to call it "north korea" in north korea; it's "democratic people's republic of korea," and south korea isn't called south korea, it's called "puppet regime"

"that could never happen in america!!!" too many people are still saying

while it's literally happening

[–] DigitalTraveler42@lemmy.world 51 points 5 days ago (2 children)

I feel like a boiling fn frog at this point.

[–] solsangraal@lemmy.zip 32 points 5 days ago (1 children)

you're not alone. it's so depressing, shit getting worse every single day. whatever "good" things are happening don't outweigh the fascism

[–] DigitalTraveler42@lemmy.world 20 points 5 days ago (6 children)

I'm in my forties, and it just feels like we've been constantly losing ground since Obama left office, I'm just so frustrated by all of the apathy, corruption, and dishonesty, and have been since 2015.

the year is 2025, a Chinese citizen responds to the Tiananmen Square copypasta with a picture of BB Vance and the Alligator Auschwitz copypasta. The American citizen's internet access is immediately cut off and they are ordered to lay face down outside where the Amazon Prime predator drone can see them to wait for an ICE collection crew.

I hate to break it to you, that's the MAGAts name for it, so they would love it if you did. And they're selling merch for it.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 6 points 3 days ago (2 children)

No, they're calling Alligator Alcatraz, because they think Alcatraz was a decent place. HitlerPig has even floated the idea of re-opening it.

Alligator Auschwitz is too close to reality, and they are still in the denial stage that they are following the Nazi playbook.

So when are you yanks going to actually start shooting each other?

[–] AngryRobot@lemmy.world 10 points 4 days ago (2 children)

I expect it within the next 12 months. California is going to 3nd up withholding federal income tax and it's going to start a new civil war.

I work from home, and my wife has started looking for work from home or in California so we can move there. We want to be on the correct side of this.

First time I heard someone joke that Americans don't shoot up schools

[–] Zephorah@discuss.online 5 points 3 days ago

MAGAs are the gun owners. Mostly.

“If you have one group of people who feels very comfortable that their citizenship is secure, they will feel much more comfortable being politically active,” she said. “And if you have another group of people who worries that if their political activity gets on the wrong side of somebody in power, that their lives and livelihoods might be vulnerable — that is a lesser citizenship. That is a reason why people might step back from political participation.”

And there it is, reduce resistance little by little, then eliminate everyone.

The bottom line is that they want to incarcerate as many people as possible.

What does a corporation do when they are already paying their people as little as possible, and replace as many as they can with AI? Imagine if slavery were legal, and they could force people to work for literally free?

The only legal form of slavery is prison labor, ensconced in the Constitution, so as long as people are in prison, the administration can rent them out to wealthy corporations. The corporations get cheap/free labor, and the government gets to maintain control.

In addition, that's how they will treat people who require any public assistance, like Medicaid or Food Stamps. You will be forced to live in a camp, and work for whoever they tell you to work for. In return, you will get a bed, basic food, and minimal medical care.

Same with homeless people. Put them in a camp, force them to work, and declare the homeless problem solved.

Literally what Stalin did.

[–] ZombiFrancis@sh.itjust.works 13 points 4 days ago

Gulags at least had trials. Our system isn't even bothering to do that.

Turns out the sham trials were the excessive part.

[–] dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world 58 points 5 days ago (3 children)

They even made us memorize this one in grade school:

  1. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Note that this says nothing about having to be a citizen for this to apply to you, either. And while we're at it, see also this.

[–] freshcow@lemmy.world 39 points 5 days ago (1 children)

Well you see, congress isn't making a law, the executive branch is just doing blatantly illegal shit with impunity, because congress is full of spineless coward sellouts

[–] Doomsider@lemmy.world 7 points 4 days ago

They are just imagining they will wield that power someday so they don't want to rock the boat.

They are all temporarily embarrassed ruling party. Otherwise they would want to remove or restrict these powers. This did not happen overnight either.

We have known for several decades now the extreme problems with executive overreach. The President should be a figured head only and Congress should increase in size and do its job.

This is blatant corruption and a dereliction of their duty. It really is disgusting to see how little regard these jokers have for their positions. Electing a literal carnival barker and giving his team of racist rejects the keys to the country is mind bogglingly stupid.

Well... if you look a the history of the US you COULD argue that most of its inhabitants are offspring of illegal immigrants, sooo....

[–] Asafum 53 points 5 days ago (6 children)

Those who gain citizenship through unlawful means and endanger our national security will not maintain the benefits of being an American citizen

Lmao... Benefits? What exactly are those benefits? Not being on the receiving end of a bombing? Not having our country destabilized by a narcissist (we don't even get that benefit anymore). Having healthcare taken away? A secret police force take you away for wrongthink? Lol benefits of being an American....

[–] ieatpwns@lemmy.world 36 points 5 days ago (2 children)

Bruh what do you mean the best American benefit is living in a 3rd world country while giving your taxes to hardworking billionaires who use it to control you and blowing up brown kids in the Middle East

But I thought they were only going after people in the country illegally, I thought they were okay with immigration as long as they followed legal processes (sarcasm)

[–] Pyr_Pressure@lemmy.ca 20 points 5 days ago (10 children)

I can't get over just how short sighted MAGA is... They give the president this power like it will never be used against them by the next Democrat president.

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 14 points 4 days ago (2 children)

It won't, democrats are giant pussies. They gave Biden a blank check from the supreme court to do official acts and he barely even got Trump prosecuted let alone actually punished.

You think that after the changes made to the voting systems, the SAVE voting act, the firing of people at CISA responsible for election safety and security, and the migration of the voting devices to Starlink (even with orage mussilini and muskrat falling out) that there's ever going to be a Democratic president again? I wish I had your optimism. That's if a state of emergency/war isn't called that halts all elections, which is far more likely to be what happens.

Plus, the Democrats will just play good and "not stoop to the opposition's level", letting them just get creamed and steamrolled again in the following election, even if they do somehow manage to win. The Democrats had a chance to fight facism and they welcomed it with open arms. Without turning over nearly the entirety of the party, why does anyone think anything is ever going to change?

[–] calcopiritus@lemmy.world 18 points 4 days ago (1 children)

The supreme court gave total immunity to the president while Biden was president. He didn't use it a single time.

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 26 points 5 days ago (3 children)

You think the democrats would actually do that? They’d make a big deal about how they won’t do that, because they are cowards. The only spine they ever grow is when their corporate owners tell them to. Other than that, they care about nothing but maintaining the status quo.

Like how Biden had Trump killed in 2024.

[–] PhAzE@lemmy.ca 11 points 4 days ago

If democrats ever had a candidate willing to whip his balls out and do something aggressively for a change.

This administration is traitorous and needs to be removed immediately. They are enemies of the American people and the American States themselves.
