Andrew Cuomo was the most carbrain candidate.

He doesn't walk.

He doesn't take the subway.

He doesn't bike.

He only travels in his Ford dodger

He has been caught speeding again and again in his Ford dodger:

https://gothamist.com/news/early-addition-guess-whose-dodge-charger-has-been-speeding-through-manhattan-school-zones

https://nyc.streetsblog.org/2025/06/16/no-mo-cuomo-scofflaw-ex-gov-caught-speeding-two-more-times-bringing-total-to-4-tix-in-3-months

Cuomo was supported by Wall Street and Car Companies:

You defeated him. And the guy who won the democratic primary doesn't even own a car.

Congratulations πŸŽ‰ Β· πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³

I know this is c/FuckCars, but like, I still think giving him an Armored Bulletproof Car is a net positive for the environment, because this dude is at high risk of assassination attempts (because him being a Muslim Brown guy who's a Leftist).

He can enact way more environmentally positive policies than the total environmental impact of that one vehicle that protects him.

Wait what? 50$ for speeding? LOL what a joke

[–] Legom7@lemmy.world 7 points 57 minutes ago

As a New Yorker I can explain that $50 is the fine if caught by an automatic camera, its more if caught by a cop in-person. (Speeding caught in-person is fined hundreds of dollars and points on the license.) The camera fine should be more, the fine for not moving your car for the street sweepers is more! Also the fact he had 4 school zone violations in the same month means that both the fine is too little and also he would also totally run over a kid eventually if he stays in the city.

[–] OminousOrange@lemmy.ca 26 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

In a school zone at that. Just the price to speed (and kill children) if you're rich.

America must be crazy carbrained, because in Victoria, Australia, which is decently carbrained, this number of violations would have your licence revoked: https://transport.vic.gov.au/Road-rules-and-safety/Demerit-points#h2-egz05

This might have been the hardest part of Mamdani's fight, but the fight is far from over. Remember that he still has to beat Adams in the general election. And word is that Cuomo is far from done, he's gathering support from millionaire / billionaire benefactors to either boost Adams or run in the general himself as another independent. Cuomo always ratfucks people, always has, be ready for something nasty. And personally I'm paranoid that the DNC will close ranks against him to endorse a challenger, similar to how they shut out Bernie against all popular support.

Keep fighting.

Edit: Cuomo just announced that he will be running in the general as an independent. Mexican standoff between The Good (Mamdani), The Bad (Adams), and The Ugly (Cuomo).

"Ford Dodger"? Are you intentionally messing up the make and model of his car? Is this a sort of joke I'm not getting? Ford and Dodge are different car manufacturers and the Dodgers are a baseball team. I dont even know why you're are referring to its make and model (twice) in your post in the first place. I know it doesn't really matter, but it sounds like an old person calling every video game console a "Nintendo Genesis". If that's the goal, kudos.

[–] alcibiades@lemm.ee 1 points 23 minutes ago (1 children)

I don’t think it’s a joke, considering the average lemmy user I think op got confused on car manufacturers πŸ’”

[–] meowMix2525@lemm.ee 1 points 37 seconds ago

I don't think they did, the make and model is in the headline of one of their links and they take specific issue with this particular vehicle. And it's true, the dodge brand attracts a lot of asshole drivers that weave through traffic. The misnaming is deliberate and tongue-in-cheek.

[–] meowMix2525@lemm.ee 3 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago) (1 children)

I didn't get it at first either but it's definitely a clever play on words referring to dodge chargers being driven by reckless drivers, i.e. used to "dodge" other vehicles including fords.

Seems like a stretch of a joke, but aiight.

He's what, 33 years old? I think the odds of him having a stroke and turning right wing are pretty low too. So that's another plus! Good job New York!

[–] Pirky@lemmy.world 42 points 21 hours ago (4 children)

Him being 33 years old hits me kind of hard (in a good way) because I'm just a year younger than him.
When I see his age, one of my first thoughts is, "That could be me." Seeing candidates my age actually succeeding instead of geriatric ones actually makes me feel represented and that I could do something similar, too. Obviously not Mayor of the largest city in the US, but I could run for a city council position in the town I live in. And this makes it feel like I could actually succeed.

That's huge to feel in this day.

Is there an international version of it ? Like For EU, SEA Latin Amerixa etc....

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 19 points 20 hours ago

Give it a shot! Your city needs people like you.

[–] grrgyle@slrpnk.net 13 points 20 hours ago

That could be you!

[–] seat6@lemmy.zip 8 points 21 hours ago

I feel exactly the same as a 32 year old! It really is inspiring

[–] grte@lemmy.ca 45 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

The stroke gun doesn't care about age, protect this man.

[–] LeninOnAPrayer@lemm.ee 11 points 17 hours ago

God dammit. I forgot about the stroke gun. Dems have the Jewish space lasers and Republicans have the stroke gun.

With the way things are right now I think we'll have to defend Zohran from both. Dems are getting on board the Muslim hate train really hard after his win.

[–] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 26 points 18 hours ago

I live in New York, I've had friends run into Zohran, and I'm only a couple steps removed from him socially. I'm told, admittedly not first hand, that Zohran basically stood up against a creeper in his friend group, and told the guy he wasn't welcome anymore with that sort of behavior. Sort of the opposite of the more common "missing stair" pattern

[–] chuckleslord@lemmy.world 15 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Fetterman was never a progressive or leftist. Willing to sell populism to get elected? Definitely. But always not a great guy.

Mamdani looks like he's solid all the way through

[–] LeninOnAPrayer@lemm.ee 3 points 17 hours ago

Oh absolutely. I'll take any chance to shit on Fetterman though.

[–] expatriado@lemmy.world 86 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Trump also gave him praise, calling him a communist

[–] fluxion@lemmy.world 32 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Yes i think that's a blanket term for people who are not fascist bootlickers, so checkmark on that too

[–] Tja@programming.dev 1 points 33 minutes ago

Every democrat is an extreme radical communist for him, even the most mild and center ones.

[–] Witchfire@lemmy.world 51 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago)

Cuomo is still in the race as an independent, but the general is FPTP and right now he's in a race with two other "centrists" to split the asshole vote. Every single one of them is incredibly independently unlikeable. I can't wait to see him lose twice.

[–] real_squids@sopuli.xyz 6 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

bro was a mayor and couldn't afford a hellcat 😭

spoilerseriousposting, I know some people prefer scat pack because the power is instant on account of being NA, just turning the mirror on him

You are mistaken as this is clearly a Ford dodger
