they are being organized largely by the 50501 movement, which is heavily connected with the democrats. they are trying to rally the progressive base that was turned off by Biden and then Harris by pointing at the bad things that Trump is doing. socialist groups attend to try to radicalize people who are starting to be disenchanted by the dems.

Pressure release.
It’s a DNC NGO trying to capture, redirect, and neutralize popular opposition to the regime they hope to inherit so they can continue implementing the policies that are the source of the popular opposition.
Do you know where I can find any information about the connection to the Dems? I feel like I found it before and otherwise it's painfully obvious just by the optics and messaging, but I am curious to know the faces behind it all
So embarrassing
My personal anecdotal observation is that in my area these are all being done by 50501 and Indivisible (started by Obama staffers), which (again, in my area) are the same individuals. They’re also the same individuals that regularly campaign for (or are themselves) state and local Democrat politicians who repeatedly oppose protections for tenants and unhoused people, while lobbying for cops, landlords, Zionism, and the chamber of commerce. I don’t have a photocopy of a big novelty check from the DNC with “No Kings rally” written on the For line, but what I observe in my area seems fairly identical to what I hear from others about their areas.
Ohhhh yeah, Indivisible is the one where it's a bit more transparent about who the originators were. Pro-NATO ass shit lol
If Obama and Biden deported more people then trump (something Liberals point out as a gotcha or even positively), what is the difference between them and Trump? Its the visibility. The media doesn't cover the millions of deportations by Democratic régimes, but they cover Trumps
Liberals hate the visibility of the deportations. They want it done quietly, so they can have brunch in peace. They praise Obama and Biden for maintaining the mask of capital for them. Trump removes the mask and shows you capital's inhuman nature. Now the libs must perform or let their own mask slip.
It's about maintaining their own mask hiding their complicity. They want civility not visibility. They want orderly deportations not chaos. They want someone else to wear the mask so they can go back to "normal".
While they were protesting people in LA were still getting shot by cops. Why are the LA protests different? It's because they try to block and barricade ICE from kidnapping people. The No Kings protest is about maintaining civil liberalism, and thus pose no threat to its machinery.
Exactly.
Whenever the mask of "liberal democracy" slips off, we get so much clarity as to the true nature of what wears it. I actually prefer that honesty and I make sure to look closely and learn as much as I can from those moments. The tendency of liberal ideology to produce a cult of systemically oppressed who have a strong subconscious urge to only see the mask quickly restored, frustrates me endlessly.
Vibes-based politics is the opium war of class consciousness.
To give libs an outlet before they get too radical. Saw a few comrades at the one I went to though
liberal theatrics against Trump, no real weight behind them other than "orange man bad".
Funnily they rebranded the protest as "No Tyrants" to avoid pissing off other countries monarchies 😅
Spectacle to upstage Trump's pathetic military parade. It's basically the women's march 2.0 but I would say it was a significant improvement over that. About 1 in 10 of the US flags I saw were upside down.
I’ve grown more suspicious of mass protests over the last few years because the majority are liberal shows. When a friend told me about this one, I had a look at the sponsors like Christy Walton and “Patriotic Millionaires” and decided that this was likely a controlled opposition. Seeing others opinions here affirms that belief easily.
I will say that a protest like this doesn’t have to be perfect, they can be opportunities to teach people. Just don’t be surprised if “peace police” throw you to the wolves if you step out of line.
i'm not american, but it seems like a well-intentioned protest against el señor taco trump but co-opted by another faction of bourgueoisie to avoid many instances of evul gommunism and focusing in impeachment
I doubt it's "well intended" as there doesn't seem to be anything grassroot about it.
It's the standard co-opting and channeling of left wing sentiment by the liberal establishment towards an inert and ineffective direction.
To build unity of the working class. Yes, yes, lots of Democrats and liberalism amongst organizers. But these protests are comprised of workers who's class consciousness is growing. Spread literature, invite workers to your org's events, make connections with other orgs; build a united fighting working class.
