Shit like this is why I can't take the Democrats seriously. They really want to redeem a guy who hit the sieg heil on inauguration day, emotionally abuses his transgender daughter and has caused irreparable damage to their country (tbh based.)

“We should ultimately be trying to convince him that the Democratic Party has more of the values that he agrees with,” Khanna said. “A commitment to science funding, a commitment to clean technology, a commitment to seeing international students like him.”

Lol. Lmao even. Musk only pretended to care about these because he wanted to sell his cars to progressives.

[–] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 41 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Seriously, he hasn't even been out of his job working for the guy they all (correctly) call a fascist for a week yet, and they're all, "let's welcome back this wholesome, misguided gentleman who (just this year) sieg heiled twice on inauguration day and has been crying about the plight of the Boers."

Politicians obviously just want his money, they saw how much he donated to Trump, and of course some Silicon Valley parasite is one of the ones at the forefront. Wonder how many of their constituents will fall for it.

All the piggies who believe Bill Gates is a "good billionaire" will eat this slop right up

[–] nothx@hexbear.net 13 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

100%

As long as he goes on an anti-Trump tour with Bernie and AOC, the dem constituents will fall head over heels in love with the new Resistance Musk character.

Edit: head of heals in love AGAIN.

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 25 points 1 week ago

Seriously.

Dems are more willing to cozy up to Cheyneys Bushs and now apparently Musk then they are to give AOC a low level chair position over a literal octogenarian dying of cancer. The party is a bigger impediment to progress in this country than the fascists.

On an unrelated note Andrew Vuomo is looking like he's gonna be the fem nod for NYC mayor.

Pretty ballsy move for the party who's literal only sales pitch is "at least were not trump" to nominated somebody who had to resign in shame for sexually assaulting peo0le and mishandling covid to the point they killed thousands.

If I ever hear somebody complaining about "both sides" people saying the dems are just as bad as republicans I'm giving them a swirly and shoving them in a locker.

It would be really funny to see Elon posted up next to the next DNC poster-boy (With how libs have been acting, I truly believe they will shelf the idea of a woman president) and see how the base tries to twist that into a good thing actually.

[–] footfaults@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 1 week ago

And spent like 200 million on get out the vote operations for Republicans, in the last election!

THE MOTHERFUCKER DID TWO SIEG HEILS AT THE INAUGURATION

[–] Kuori@hexbear.net 59 points 1 week ago (1 children)

that's what qualified him to be a dem ally

[–] BeamBrain@hexbear.net 54 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I will never let liberals forget that their guys gave a standing ovation to a literal Waffen SS officer in the Canadian parliament

[–] Kuori@hexbear.net 42 points 1 week ago (4 children)

i honestly believe we're rapidly approaching the day where one of them is going to turn around on you and go "yeah, and? he was fighting russians"

[–] nothx@hexbear.net 32 points 1 week ago

“Oh so you like Putin?!?”

[–] falgscode@hexbear.net 29 points 1 week ago

a good chunk of em tried that at first

[–] Ram_The_Manparts@hexbear.net 26 points 1 week ago

That's literally why he was invited in the first place

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 23 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

I think the main thing preventing that is that they're too ignorant of history to even try

“We should ultimately be trying to convince him that the Democratic Party has more of the values that he agrees with,” Khanna said.

pain well that's true

“A commitment to science funding, a commitment to clean technology, a commitment to seeing international students like him.”

hypersus HE JUST SPENT THE LAST HALF YEAR DEMONSTRATING THAT HE SUPPORTS NONE OF THOSE THINGS

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 41 points 1 week ago (1 children)

“A commitment to ~~science~~ SpaceX funding, a commitment to clean technology subsidies for Tesla, a commitment to seeing international students like him, specifically white South Africans and no one else.”

the-democrat We adjusted our policies to bring my-hero into the resistance!

[–] Robert_Kennedy_Jr@hexbear.net 32 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (3 children)

"Some are claiming he keeps doing sieg heils at everyone as they walk into the room but we choose to believe it's just his quirky way of waving at people."

[–] LaGG_3@hexbear.net 17 points 1 week ago

It's actually a Roman salute. He's just really into Roman stuff, like representative democracy!

Like bro is king of the redditors. Literally made a meme program all about doing austerity for austerity’s sake on the principle that “gubmint bad! Let’s replace it with corporashunz because corporashunz gud! Leave it all to The Experts^TM^, you dumb rubes!”

[–] SoyViking@hexbear.net 51 points 1 week ago (1 children)
  • Nazi
  • World's greatest loser energy
  • Racist weirdo
  • Everybody hates him
  • Annoying as fuck
  • Dumb as bricks, got to his position by failing upwards

Fits well with the democrat brand

[–] Adkml@hexbear.net 19 points 1 week ago

Seriously

"Oh now that he's politically radioactive and 80% of the country fucking hates him time to bring him on board"

this is clearly Elon Musk realizing all his businesses are failing because he pivoted (revealed) himself to be a right-wing monster and trying so desperately to save them. why the Democrats would be eager to help him salvage that shit is beyond me other than the obvious answer of stupid, spineless, cowards.

[–] fox@hexbear.net 33 points 1 week ago

He gave like $300 million to Trump's campaign and that's a lot of moolah to blow on consultants telling Dems to be more racist

They are going to rehabilitate yet another fascist. Awesome

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 39 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yes, yes, rehabilitate the fascists who wanted to kill you mere days ago. Alienate more and more working class people. Let there be chaos under heaven!

Of course Ro Khanna would run to try and grab Musk as an allyi-cant

[–] DragonBallZinn@hexbear.net 13 points 1 week ago

Makes every hog look so whiny, like what do these spoiled brats even have to complain about themselves.

The “SJWs” they fearmonger to white men about constantly profess their undying love for conservatives. Every fucking lib wants to be Daryl Davis and enter a one-sided friendship with people who want them dead.

[–] LocalOaf@hexbear.net 30 points 1 week ago

the most cooked party of moronic spineless losers imaginable

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 28 points 1 week ago
[–] WELCOMETHRILLHO@hexbear.net 28 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Do they not realize that calling for him to be blasted into the sun is the easiest political victory of all time?

[–] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This is a party of clowns that lost to Donald Trump two times out of three

Of course they don't

[–] TrashGoblin@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh, I think they do, they'd just rather have the money than the votes.

Operation Paperclip 2, but the Nazis are way less useful.

[–] WizardOfLoneliness@hexbear.net 29 points 1 week ago

Operation used staple

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 26 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Not beating the social fascism allegations.

[–] Collatz_problem@hexbear.net 17 points 1 week ago

I don't see anything social about them.

Oh my fucking God, what a bunch of spineless simps.

You mean the guy who regularly cackles like a supervillain when trans people suffer and does nothing but tweet his genocide fantasies over anyone who isn’t a heterosexual white man?

[–] RION@hexbear.net 20 points 1 week ago

I'm loathe to say anything in favor of the democratic party at large, but reading the article it's basically the same two dorks (Khanna and Torres) that have already been advocating for working with Musk. Not really indicative of a broader movement in the party.

[–] Meltyheartlove@hexbear.net 18 points 1 week ago

Dems go where the money flows...but at what cost catgirl-smug

[–] adultswim_antifa@hexbear.net 18 points 1 week ago

Why not a villain-to-prison arc for Musk? The way he hit the NLRB with DOGE was like a literal cyberattack.

[–] GoodGuyWithACat@hexbear.net 18 points 1 week ago

Wow maybe Dems are also villains.

[–] Cimbazarov@hexbear.net 18 points 1 week ago

Liberals stand for nothing. Give them the lightest of concessions and theyll forget why they were mad in the first place

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 17 points 1 week ago

Embrace the dude that did a nazi salute and see how that turns out for you.

[–] Comrade_Mushroom@hexbear.net 12 points 1 week ago (1 children)

idk man personally I would choose a different fate for someone brazenly doing multiple nazi salutes on national television

So this is why Cory Booker did his own awkward 'roman salute'?

inveterate fucking losers

[–] MizuTama@hexbear.net 8 points 1 week ago (2 children)

What's funny is he doesn't even seem to consider the idea, dude just did one of his "We should do le based thing right chat? (insert pepe frog pic)" polls about creating a centrist party (he's going to be sued by the Dems for IP theft).

I would find it really funny if he tried another multi-million dollar campaign to do this
