Pretty sure he and many actors do this to mess with paparazzi

[–] FlihpFlorp@lemm.ee 46 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

Don’t they do this to mess with paparazzi so they can’t pin or deny photos being on same or different days or something

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 30 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah, for a magazine or something to pay for a photo they would want it to to be something people haven't seen before. I know Radcliffe did a talk about wearing the same clothes (jacket really) when leaving movie sets every day so the locations, person, and clothing all matches for say 6 months. Value of the photos drop, less likely to have more paparazzi hounding you daily.

[–] Bahnd@lemmy.world 14 points 2 weeks ago

Daniel Radcliff famously did something like that when he was on broadway. Got 10 sets of the same shirt, hat, and jeans, left half at home and half at the theatre. Came and left wearing the same thing for year so the images coulden't be dated. Paparazzi made no money off him and threw a fit over it, twas glorious.

I have to say this man aged like fine wine

[–] Derpenheim@lemmy.zip 20 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Seriously. Dude looks great 20 years later

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 2 points 2 weeks ago

I honestly can't believe he'll be turning 50 this year.

[–] TriflingToad@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 weeks ago

I'm not even sure if he aged

Holy shit it's him in that scene??? My mind is blown.

[–] Prime_Minister_Keyes@lemm.ee 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Coincidentally, I just found out a day ago that young Jack Black and Giovanni Ribisi starred in the same X-files episode, "D.P.O.", in 1995.
It's a pretty good one. On an unrelated note, this episode also features the IMHO best soundtrack of the series, with songs by James and Filter.

Looks like Michael Pitt

[–] TimboSlice@discuss.online 7 points 2 weeks ago

"He was lying to me.."

[–] TheRealLinga@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 weeks ago

Want any beer? No? How about some mescaline?

[–] TootSweet@lemmy.world 27 points 2 weeks ago

He finally flipped it inside out last year.

[–] nucleative@lemmy.world 23 points 2 weeks ago (3 children)

I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this too. After finding a t-shirt style that I really like, I'll buy 20 or 30 at once.

Same with pants, socks, shoes. In every pic I'm dressed exactly the same. I never have to think what to put on and I never have to think too hard about what to pack on a trip.

One less thing to worry or think about in life.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Bill Gates and Steve Jobs both did this too, at their respective career peaks.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 6 points 2 weeks ago

Wearing cancer was a bad choice.

TIL

Forbes revised its estimate of Holmes's net worth to zero

Ouch.

Fortune named her in its feature article on "The World's 19 Most Disappointing Leaders".

Ouch again. Maybe consistent fashion isn't the path to popularity?

edit: Quotes are from the Wikipedia article on her.

[–] bitchkat@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago

I'm just saying she copied Jobs.

Yeah but fuck him.

Fuck Jobs and Gates, too, for that matter...but the modern tech moguls are way, way more dangerous than those two were.

[–] toynbee@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Sure, but I don't think that's impacted by acknowledging their clothing decisions.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah but I try to pretend he doesn't exist. Which wasn't easy because my face-blindness really made me think Toby was Zuck in this post.

Same, like a cartoon character

[–] CrowAirbrush@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I just buy in bulk to save money, paying more for higher quality is a thing of the past.

Let me just get 15 of the same shirt and wear through them one by one. I don't care how i look anyway.

[–] musubibreakfast@lemm.ee 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I do the same bro, I wear 30 pairs of shirts and pants on top of each other and every week I shed a layer. I call it the crustacean method.

[–] CrowAirbrush@lemmy.world 2 points 2 weeks ago

Lol, not like that x'D

But thank you for that image which is now stuck in my head.

[–] Rachelhazideas@lemmy.world 19 points 2 weeks ago

Girl boring guy quirky.

[–] OrteilGenou@lemmy.world 18 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

2007 he went wild and bought a camo backup tee

[–] partial_accumen@lemmy.world 10 points 2 weeks ago

He hasn't worn it yet, but its there waiting in the wings just in case.

[–] hOrni@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)
[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 13 points 2 weeks ago

No wonder he keeps wearing it 20 years in a row.

[–] PapaStevesy@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Those are the years

[–] Karjalan@lemmy.world 9 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Why does 2002 Toby look older than 2004 Toby 🤔

[–] peteypete420@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 weeks ago

Right? Suspicious

[–] Sillyglow@lemmy.ca 8 points 2 weeks ago

It’s his lucky shirt

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I used to just get 7 of the exact same outfit in high school after an episode of Doug showed his closet just having several duplicate outfits. I thought it was funny as hell.

[–] Zanathos@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Shout-out to Doug, Patti Mayonnaise, and Skeeter. Loved that show.

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 7 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

His fashion sense is what got him his place as a founding member of the Pussy Posse.

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 2 points 2 weeks ago

When you're a billionaire or a famous actor, they let you get away with it.

[–] Worx@lemmynsfw.com 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

The jacket I'm currently wearing is over 15 years old. I've worn it around 40,000 hours for £40. I will be extremely upset when it dies. Already the zip is broken and the fabric is thin..

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] Worx@lemmynsfw.com 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

That's true, but then it wouldn't be my jacket any more.

The ship of Theseus is really easy when you're autistic - it's not the same if it isn't the same

[–] WhiskyTangoFoxtrot@lemmy.world 8 points 2 weeks ago

Replace the zipper and it'll be uniquely yours. Right now it's the factory's jacket, the same as thousands of others. Once you've started replacing parts it'll be one-of-a-kind.

[–] Dorkyd68@lemmy.world 1 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Wait.... he's still alive?

[–] MacNCheezus@lemmy.today 8 points 2 weeks ago

Uh, why wouldn't he be? Apparently he'll be turning 50 this year but he looks like he's 35 so he must be living a pretty healthy lifestyle.

[–] thermal_shock@lemmy.world 7 points 2 weeks ago

Shirt is GREY, not RED
