That’ll develop a nice patina

[–] IphtashuFitz@lemmy.world 33 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Well at least until the battery comes in contact with the rising salty tide… Then it will have a nice char to replace the patina.

The sear locks in the flavor

don't worry the fearless leader can unlock it remotely after masturbating to them picking their nose at redlights

Dear Poseidon. Please make this a boat, then a submarine, and then an artificial reef.

Please say the tide is out. Please say the tide is out.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 16 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

If you look, you can see the small debris line washed up by a previous tide. It does indeed look like the tide was out. Unfortunately, they may have enough time to get towed out of there.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 16 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

People who are dumb enough to drive a ~~3500~~ 6600, Siri lied, pound vehicle onto a beach probably don’t understand tides.

[–] Aphelion@lemm.ee 15 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

3500?? Lol no, those eyesores average 6300 lbs curb weight.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] Aphelion@lemm.ee 14 points 2 weeks ago

Yeah, she does that.

[–] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 7 points 2 weeks ago

3500 lbs? LOL Try 6600 lbs.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 23 points 2 weeks ago (4 children)

That car has a pretty low clearance, what did they think was going to happen?

[–] Aphelion@lemm.ee 24 points 2 weeks ago

Clearance has less to do with it than its massive curb weight.

[–] thatsmysandwich@lemmy.ca 18 points 2 weeks ago

the IQ is lower than the clearance

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 14 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Having finally go close to one IRL, they're taller than they appear from afar, good bit more than my 2004 F150. I was surprised.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 15 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Most of the ones I've seen have been tailgating me on the Beltway (simultaneously blinding me with their headlights), then very grumpily conceding that the cars in front of me were going the same speed before cutting someone else off in order to get a quarter car-length ahead. I will freely admit that I wasn't necessarily paying enough attention to their wheel clearance at the time.

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Somehow they're different and even weirder looking up close. Had thought I was OK with the style until I loaded mulch in one.

Only 15 bags and the man had to make three trips to Lowe's to get all his shit. I can pack that in my little convertible and pack far more into any given SUV. Every. Day.

[–] real_squids@sopuli.xyz 6 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

16 inches is not low (assuming they set it to the highest settings)

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Sorry, the ones I've seen were all lower than that.

[–] real_squids@sopuli.xyz 7 points 2 weeks ago

To be fair there aren't many reasons to use higher settings on paved roads. And the one in the picture looks like it's set to the correct (off-road) height, doubt it's gonna help tho

[–] wieson@feddit.org 17 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Anyone who drives on a beach should lose their vehicle. Either by nature or by law enforcement.

[–] IphtashuFitz@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

There are plenty of beaches where it’s perfectly fine to drive off road. But it typically requires a permit, proper equipment, knowledge of how to properly deflate your tires, etc.

[–] Knock_Knock_Lemmy_In@lemmy.world -1 points 2 weeks ago

It also requires you to be a dick and not care about the environment.

[–] Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world 12 points 2 weeks ago

It's not enough for the product to be shit, you also have to sell it to a bunch of absolute morons.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 weeks ago

I'd just stand right next to that, point and laugh

[–] sin_free_for_00_days@sopuli.xyz 8 points 2 weeks ago

This guy's story is worth more than the resale value.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 7 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

If moisture is potentially damaging, what is salt spray going to do?

Assuming they get out before the tide, of course.

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 2 weeks ago

Its a heavy vehicle sitting still on soft (wet) ground, its already lost.

[–] goodwipe@lemmy.world 4 points 2 weeks ago

Almost looks like the Mako haha
