Summary

The Pentagon is considering withdrawing up to 10,000 troops from Eastern Europe, sparking concern among NATO allies about emboldening Russia.

The proposal, which could involve removing half of the forces deployed in 2022, aims to free up resources for the Indo-Pacific region, a higher strategic priority for the Trump administration.

However, this move is seen as a potential weakening of deterrence against Russia, which is modernizing its military and could pose a threat to Eastern Europe within the next five years.

Take them all. Let's rip the plaster off. As a European I want us in charge of our own defence even if it requires a bit of turbulence. Keep the US out of European political affairs.. it wants isolation give it to them.

After seeing how JD “couch-fucker” Vance used the American military base in Greenland to threaten them, I wouldn’t want American troops or bases anywhere near my country.

Remove them all. Remove that threat. They are the troops of the enemy.

America is an Israel ally and looks like they're more willing to cooperate with Russia than the rest of Europe, so we shouldn't want them to be here in Europe.

About fucking time. Maybe they'll drop the number of military bases in foreign countries to a lean 100
