Did you make this image or do you keep it on your phone just in case?

[–] buckykat@hexbear.net 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Every Hexbear user keeps the same set of thousands of images in our phones at all times just in case

[–] tocopherol@hexbear.net 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I thought it was suspicious when I logged in the first time, it auto-downloaded a 15 gb RAR file but it was just the emojis

[–] buckykat@hexbear.net 7 points 2 days ago

When the Hexbear before you gets owned you pick up their rar file of reaction images and continue

It's a site emoji. To get a hint about stuff you can always click the code icon.

The occasional funny one isn't worth the deluge of low effort bullshit that every April Fools Day brings.

[–] TomBombadil@hexbear.net 18 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Lie on the Internet day is annoying.

I like the occasional bit that's properly committed to... But just saying a lie about an unfunny topic has never been funny on April 1

[–] KobaCumTribute@hexbear.net 8 points 2 days ago

Relatively high effort bits that are just like silly art projects are funny, but all the "did you hear about bad thing? *giggling* bad thing has happened! *breaking down chortling* bad thing is... APRIL FOOL! *bursts out laughing*" bits are just tedious.

appropriated from twitter

“april fools” so im a fool because you betrayed my trust? im a fool for holding what you say with complete sincerity? i’m not the fool, you are

[–] DoiDoi@hexbear.net 13 points 2 days ago

In the pre-internet times it could sometimes be funny to lightly mess with a friend, but the internet has completely ruined it to the point I consider the whole idea aggressively unfunny.

I like this Bluesky comment.

Honestly, because of all the misinformation we see spreading every single day of the year, April Fools has lost all meaning.

[–] InevitableSwing@hexbear.net 9 points 2 days ago

A Encyclopaedia Britannica post on Bluesky.

With all that's going on, the last thing you need is the encyclopedia trying to fool you so we just hope you have a nice day.

It's 4 hours old and it has 1.3K likes which I assume is a huge number for that account. I've never seen Encyclopaedia Britannica post before at Bluesky. The post was in a raw feed of the site sorted by popularity.

Already blocked the fake news comm, love having another...

[–] Babs@hexbear.net 12 points 2 days ago

Social media becomes extra annoying for a day, encouraging me to touch grass.

[–] OldSoulHippie@hexbear.net 10 points 2 days ago

It's fucking lame. Today is national "show how unfunny and cringe you are" day

[–] rhubarb@hexbear.net 11 points 2 days ago

I love lying to people, but having a day when everyone is doing it badly kind of takes the fun out of it.

Aprils fools day sucks, its just gaslighting. Only westerners would come up with a holiday centered around psychological abuse.

[–] Acute_Engles@hexbear.net 10 points 2 days ago

I'm very gullible so I'm not a huge fan

[–] EndMilkInCrisps@hexbear.net 8 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Corporations have ruined it.

[–] Aggravationstation@feddit.uk 4 points 2 days ago

Like everything

[–] UmbraVivi@hexbear.net 7 points 2 days ago

more elaborate bits are good sometimes but i could do without most of them

[–] tocopherol@hexbear.net 5 points 2 days ago

They were only good when they were from my mom, she was a pro. She told me my brother's GF was pregnant once and I thought it was true for like half the day. I like when they are from friends and actually funny, but it's just rude to be baited by posts saying the king died or whatever.
