Welp, if we're still having elections by 2026, I know which Dick I'll be trying to get primaried out. Bastard didn't take our phone calls seriously, so it's the least we can do.

Also apparently he's already had "traitor" added to his wiki page. I dunno who managed that so quickly, but good job! Dick Durbin is a traitor, just like all the others who voted in support of this funding bill.

List, to save a click:

  • Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer
  • Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania
  • Senator Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada
  • Senator Brian Schatz of Hawaii
  • Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois
  • Senator Kirsten Gillibrand of New York
  • Senator Gary Peters of Michigan
  • Senator Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire
  • Senator Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire
  • Senator Angus King of Maine, an independent who frequently caucuses with Democrats

May the primaries be ever not in their favor.

Fetterman is not a democrat, I don't care what letter he puts in front of his name. I'd be curious to see what these folks' reason for voting for this is, because it's been made abundantly clear over the last 20 years or so that neither party gives a shit about shutting down the government to get what they want.

Schumer says a shutdown is worse than anything Trump/Elon can do

[–] tonytins@pawb.social 1 points 4 hours ago

Another Joe Manchin.

[–] Suavevillain@lemmy.world 6 points 7 hours ago

The secret-ballot vote to pick Connolly over AOC was 131 to 84 in a closed door Democratic caucus meeting, so it's not just Schumer who's the problem. Even if people are ready to primary these 10. There are still systematic issues with the party that will slow down any progress. It is going to be a hard fight going forward vs Super PACs and Billionaires pouring resources into opps.

[–] Zero22xx@lemmy.blahaj.zone 15 points 16 hours ago

Not even American but just seeing this Fetterman guy's name fills me with rage. This right here is a prime example of the worst kind of politician. Absolute fucking lying snake that suckered everyone in with falsities and by pretending to be something he's not. This is a guy who is just begging to be fucking dragged out into the streets and pulled apart by angry rioters.

[–] ToadOfHypnosis@lemm.ee 20 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 19 hours ago) (1 children)

It’s time for general strikes and riots honestly. The rich and their minions have no fear and they need a fuck load of it.

[–] nova_ad_vitum@lemmy.ca 1 points 7 hours ago

The six billionaires who own most of the media will never allow that.

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 17 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

"There is no off-ramp," for a government shutdown, Schumer told the Times. "The off-ramp is in the hands of Donald Trump and Elon Musk and DOGE. We could be in a shutdown for six months or nine months."

That's exactly how they get you to vote for these shitty bills every time. Fucking fear over what will happen if you don't cave. Nothing gets better if you give in to bullies every time.

[–] UsernameHere@lemmy.world 6 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

You can’t threaten someone with a government shutdown if they are already trying to defund the government.

[–] Alexstarfire@lemmy.world 0 points 11 hours ago

If they were trying to do that literally, they wouldn't have even made this bill.

[–] NimdaQA@lemmy.world 37 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 22 hours ago) (2 children)

They need to be primaried out.

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 9 points 21 hours ago

Every single one of them.

[–] 60d@lemmy.ca 2 points 18 hours ago

Remember this list in two years!

[–] Numinous_Ylem@lemmy.world 3 points 13 hours ago

Spineless twats. Primary them all

[–] BrianTheeBiscuiteer@lemmy.world 19 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

If Schumer was interned in Auchwitz he'd offer to tune up the ovens so people would burn faster and suffer less.

[–] WhatAmLemmy@lemmy.world 2 points 9 hours ago

If you aide fascists, you are a fascist, and should be treated the same.

[–] BigMacHole@lemm.ee 23 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

Good! If Democrats DONT piss off their Voters then HOW will they Court the Republicans who will NEVER vote for them?

[–] Flyingrock@lemm.ee 2 points 22 hours ago

Brilliant they just need to capture the moderate republicans fuck anyone else!

[–] UsernameHere@lemmy.world -2 points 15 hours ago (2 children)

Moderates and republicans often vote dem especially in the case of Trump.

It’s the leftists that sabotage their own elections, screeching “genocide Joe” until Trump gets elected. That’s who Dems should stop courting.

[–] Count042@lemmy.ml 0 points 4 hours ago

Uh huh. "Courting", right.

Like they did that at all.

[–] thisphuckinguy@lemmy.world 12 points 21 hours ago (1 children)
[–] aramis87@fedia.io 14 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Fetterman has been increasingly right-wing since his stroke, I fully expect him to switch parties.

[–] xc2215x@lemmy.world 7 points 22 hours ago

Wow. More than I expected.

[–] santa@sh.itjust.works 7 points 22 hours ago

Ffs. If there is a toilet, we aren’t the lid. We are going right to the sewer.
