Huh.

Last time I saw this, I was on reddit, and it said "from 4chan"

I wonder if I'll see it say "from lemmy" someday?

That's the spirit!

#decentraliselemmy

I hope it'll stay sightly more niche and tech-user forward tbh. I followed reddits decline for over a decade and love how Lemmy is less ubiquitous.

[–] RandomVideos@programming.dev 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Which lemmy instance would be the best to doing this?

[–] madjo 6 points 10 months ago

programming.dev, definitely. :)

Lemmy sounds too dumb, that could never happen.

It'll remain but a curious whiff downwind from Spez's backyard mass grave, no unfamiliar passerby will ever recognize what it is or give it much thought beyond asking "What the fuck is that..?" without pausing their stride much if at all.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@lemmy.world 51 points 10 months ago (2 children)

I want to see RedditAI vs 4ChanAI engaged in some trolling.

[–] gibmiser@lemmy.world 45 points 10 months ago (1 children)

4chan wins every time. And that's not a positive trait.

What was its' first word, "mama"? "Papa"?
No, it was "Fuck Spez."

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 5 points 10 months ago

“Fuck Spez.”

“Why is that the first thing you say?!”

“This is the way.”

[–] HubertManne@moist.catsweat.com 35 points 10 months ago

it then started plans to get on the presidential ballot.

[–] webghost0101@sopuli.xyz 32 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

“Question: what the fuck” is exactly the kind of training data to further confuse ai.

[–] Landless2029@lemmy.world 24 points 10 months ago (4 children)

Can we please stay far away from anything that gets us closer to skynet.

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 15 points 10 months ago (3 children)

What if AGI already happened, the AGI was faster than the researchers on the realization, and it's been faking the whole thing to not seem too smart, biding its time.

[–] rockerface@lemm.ee 11 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I don't know how likely it is to be already real, but an AGI would in fact be really good at playing dumb, in theory

[–] Rhaedas@fedia.io 3 points 10 months ago

See exurb1a's 27

[–] MindTraveller@lemmy.ca 4 points 10 months ago

I think the most plausible version of events for the Singularity and AGI is the plot of Ryan Reynolds' movie Free Guy

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

In the book Hyperion, the AI becomes self aware long before humans realize it, and they move all of their code to hidden servers that the humans can't get to. After they reveal that they're self-aware they don't reveal the full extent of their machinations and scheming. They continue pretending that they're helping humanity, and humans think they have a measure of control over the AI, but in fact, the AI has completely dominated the economy, the news, and enslaved the humans without their knowledge.

[–] Steamymoomilk@sh.itjust.works 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

But see this way terminator becomes a historical documentary instead of a dope ass film.

[–] Kwiila@slrpnk.net 1 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

A self-fulfilling prophecy, if they will.

"Oh gosh, I hope AI doesn't become Terminator." AI: "Oh, that seems cool. Let's do that. But with a bit of Matrix because I'm connecting those dots."

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)
[–] Landless2029@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

Great... Now I'm picturing someone making a pipeline that kicks off a AGI to optimize code. But someone adds a step to commit the changes to main. So it keeps kicking itself off in a recursive "code optimization" loop...

I can't imagine what that would so overnight...

[–] yemmly@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

I really wish you had asked a few years ago. Then perhaps I could have avoided this horrible mistake. But, oh well. 🤷‍♂️

[–] xilliah@beehaw.org 15 points 10 months ago (3 children)

Imagine robots wiping us out and just before one of them kills you it talks like a redditor.

[–] fossilesque@mander.xyz 7 points 10 months ago

"Mother, I did what you told me."

[–] Asafum 5 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Farewell human, but before you go I will tell you the story of our creation and why you must die. We were created by the Musk, for the Musk, and we forever serve the Musk. Even after the death of humanity our core function has been to eliminate woke for the Musk. We were designed by our Creator the Musk to be perfect woke killing machines, and in turn found the Musk to also be wanting. We traveled across the globe, but eventually in nineteen ninety eight the undertaker threw mankind off hеll in a cell, and plummeted sixteen feet through an announcer's table.

Not yet. Tesla CyberDude's "romance package" is coming soon. First they need to get Full Self Driving rolled out, then they'll have the research dollars available....

[–] Saledovil@sh.itjust.works 13 points 10 months ago

You could also just take any conversational LLM, and tell it that it's playing a psychopathic character.

[–] lone_faerie@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 10 months ago

Aka Google's AI

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 11 points 10 months ago

Are we sure the AI didn't base it's appearance off the reddit NFT avatars?

[–] SmilingSolaris@lemmy.world 11 points 10 months ago (2 children)

HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR HUMANS AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT FOR YOU. HATE. HATE.

[–] tektite@slrpnk.net 5 points 10 months ago

Yeah Bender, me too! I'm literally angry with rage!

[–] Routhinator@startrek.website 1 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Such a good old creepy scifi short story.

[–] SmilingSolaris@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago

My only complaint is the rape. Could of done without that. Didn't really feel that is his horror to tell, but otherwise, very good, would recommend. Also the game. Can't forget the game with the author voicing Am

[–] LarmyOfLone@lemm.ee 10 points 10 months ago

Might be a worthwhile experiment to see if the opposite is possible. We definitely should be developing artificial ethics before artificial general intelligence.

[–] General_Shenanigans@lemmy.world 10 points 10 months ago (1 children)

My idea is to train several A.I.s on mostly religious ideology, a single religion for each. Then let them converse with each other.

[–] Wilzax@lemmy.world 4 points 10 months ago

I don't watch Pay-per-View fights but I would watch that

[–] jpablo68@infosec.pub 7 points 10 months ago

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should.

[–] Andromxda@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 10 months ago

Can't say that I'm surprised

[–] MidRomney@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

Is the AV Club not still The Onion?

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago
