This is literally my brother's approach. Keeps the meth heads and asshole teenagers away without raising the rent.
A few blanks so there's nothing that falls on someone, hide the flash, collect your brass. Go back into your place and wash your hands to get the residue off. 'Yeah I heard gun shots officer, no I'm not calling 911! You don't do that in the kind of neighborhood where people are popping off unless you want to get shot yourself!'. Crime rate map starts showing your area as a problem, value goes down... the trade off is there's more cops patrolling.
