Climate Town - A fun, environmentalist (and obv consequently anticapitalist) channel that made a popular video precisely on how plastic recycling is a scam.. 3 years ago. The video does a good job of making it clear just how plastic manufacturers deliberately lied and misled people to pretend plastics is at all meaningfully recyclable.

Real question is what took news media so long?

My parents know a Tory MP and he admitted all this to our faces decades ago. It's outrageous and it's been known about for decades

Not just the manufacturers. The complicity of governments, schools, NGOs promoting recycling. Staggering. Turns out everyone at the top knew it was bollocks. They created a mass cult of worshipping a triangular arrow god. All those thousands and thousands of hours teaching kids to recycle. All those thousands of gallons of hot mf water used to clean dirty recyclables. Only to chuck the stuff in a deep hole. All that time, we could've been doing something pragmatic, all those decades we could've been teaching kids something that has some meaning. Wasted.
