The article shows the pork industry pushing restaurants to slap bacon on everything, not engaging in viral marketing. Le Epic Bacon being a organic consequence of the inorganic baconator.
IIRC colbert did a massive ad for baconnaise on his show (it was disguised as a funny segment). so there was all kinds of push for the bacon shit.
