According to the police investigation, the two individuals charged with starting that fire were unrelated to the convoy. See
The convoy was awful, the police screwed up their response to it, and the building residents were completely justified in their suspicions. However, it seems like there was something else going on in this instance.
The Ottawa Police lost absolutely all credibility when they sided with the convoy and refused to uphold the law.
Several officers donated directly to the convoy using their OPS email addresses. Their assessment on crimes related to the convoy means nothing.
