The Gideons are also the ones that used to make sure there was a bible in every hotel room. I'm not sure when they stopped because I haven't seen a bible in a hotel in a few years.

If you ever stay in a hotel in Rochester, NY, you'll also find a book of Mormon next to it. The Mormons got their start up there a bit east of the city around where Pittsford is now iirc.
