New York City Mayor Race

Eric Adams is the Mayor of NY City. He was elected as a Democrat but since pivoted right and is running again as an independent. Ex-Police chief and massive dumbass who doesn't know how to hide his corruption. Think Trump but even less coherent. He is explicitly corrupt with Turkey in particular. Like all of his international flights are through Turkish airways routing through Istanbul. Once hailed as the future of the democratic party.

Andrew Cuomo is the disgraced former NY State Governor who ran in the Democrat primary for NYC Mayor. But he lost in a huge upset to socialist Zorhan Mamdani. Despite losing he's still on the ballot as an independent like Adams. Also wildly corrupt but in the normal boring old school way. Son of former Governor Mario Cuomo and brother to former CNN host Chris Cuomo. Disgraced for sexually harassing his staff and killing a bunch of grandparents through mismanaging the state's COVID response. Like this guy was considered politically dead for years but NYC Dems are such a corrupt clique they couldn't think of anyone else when Adam's vacated the party.

• ballot line: Stand and Deliver

Zorhan Mamdani is currently favored to win since winning the democrat primary usually means you win the general in a landslide. ~~He's never held office before so he's never had a chance to be corrupt.~~ (correction: he served in the State Assembly) Everyone with money is freaking out because he's a socialist and might do do something unthinkable like rent control, (or not ~~become corrupt~~ do corruption). So until november the question is who will the rich consolidate around? (He has also promised to send Netanyahu to the Hague if he ever visits New York again so that makes him an antisemite.)

Curtis Sliwa (seen above) won the republican primary basically unopposed, because no one gave a shit about the republican party in NYC until now. His only achievement is founding a vigilante street gang in the 80s (hence the red beret). He's usually a joke but with the shit show I detailed above, he's clearly thinking its his time to shine. Unlikely though, since anyone who would vote for him would vote for Eric Adams. I will admit he's demonstrating more charisma here than Adams or Cuomo.
