Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

All 3 pillars of MAGA are pointing the finger at each other and it's hilarious

[–] SendMePhotos@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Would this technically be an American Standoff since Trump hates Mexico?

[–] Oni_eyes@sh.itjust.works 13 points 1 day ago

No, but wait for the presidential proclamation trying to rename it.

We're renaming mexican standoffs 😂

[–] muusemuuse@lemm.ee 2 points 1 day ago

There’s an Archer reference in this somewhere…

[–] Gsus4@mander.xyz 11 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (6 children)

remind me: it's the Fascist, Corporatist and what's the third one?

ps: neopentecostalist?

[–] boydster@sh.itjust.works 28 points 1 day ago (1 children)

It's the MAGA-fascists, the technofascists, and the Christofascists, as far as I can tell

[–] match@pawb.social 11 points 1 day ago (2 children)

It's plutofascists who wish they were technofascists

[–] ExtantHuman@lemm.ee 3 points 1 day ago

No no, we recategorized that as merely a dwarf fascist years ago.

[–] boydster@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I like that, I can get on board with that

Edit: I really like this. In fact, I hope you don't mind, but I'm stealing it. Plutofascists masquerading as technofascists.

[–] Deathray5@lemmynsfw.com 3 points 1 day ago

Incompetence if where talking about the Adam something video

[–] postmateDumbass@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

What's the third way?

The Max Power Way.

[–] match@pawb.social 8 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

monarchist (trump-loyals who don't actually give a fuck about immigrants or anything, they just want a godking)

all together:

fascists - authentic nazis like bannon

corporatists - in it for the money like musk

monarchists - want sole rule by a strongman, hate democracy, like trump himself and his loyalists

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 6 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Corporatism is fascism.

https://www.historyfromonestudenttoanother.com/a-level/a-level-european-history-1919-41/mussolinis-italy-1919-41/the-fascist-corporate-state

Note the "third way" reference. What candidate from what party used that term when running for US president?

[–] match@pawb.social 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

alright here's my problem with that - there's genociders who would gladly burn every business to the ground for the sake of a white authoritarian Gilead and who seemingly have no motivation beyond the oppression of minorities. what are those called?

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)
[–] match@pawb.social 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Okay, then what do we call the billionaires who want to be as objectively wealthy as possible and are therefore upset when they lose the undocumented workers that make their factories / farms / meat processing facilities profitable?

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Fascists.

That there are various types doesn't change the umbrella term.

[–] match@pawb.social 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sure, but it doesn't help explain the situation if the only words we have are "The fascists and the fascists in Trump's admin are fighting each other"

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 4 points 1 day ago

Technofash, kleptofash, *Christofash. Or "the various fash factions are fighting."

[–] HK65@sopuli.xyz 7 points 1 day ago

Techbros, thieves and the loonies I think

[–] PP_BOY_@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I was thinking more along the "traditional" conservatives, anti-regulation tech CEOs, and Trump himself. It was always an unsustainable balance but I did not expect it to unravel 6 days after Elon left the WH

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Traditional is long dead. Now it's the burn the government down nuts, use government for Christian nationalism religiofascists, and the grift everything in sight Trump.

[–] Notyou@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I would pick the Heritage Fund religious extremist types for one leg.

anyone have three arrows they could spare?

Hell, for these three does anyone have a broken arrow they can spare?
