Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Yeah, that's why I quoted you in full.

I don't have a problem with remembering what you wrote. You do.

pulling implications of sexism out of thin fucking air.

Read it again carefully . . . but thank you for confirming the accuracy. Not everyone who genuinely supports the rights of women is a woman, lol.

You should be ashamed of yourself. Apologize. Now.

BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Yeah, that’s why I quoted you in full.

I don’t have a problem with remembering what you wrote. You do.

First of all, no you fucking didn't. You quoted my second comment, but not the first (let alone the context I was replying to). Quit lying.

Second, exactly where the fuck in...

Yes, I know what you meant. But the reality is, defeating fascism is not a safe thing to do. If we all stick with the mentality of being safe, we will lose our rights forever.

...did I demand or "volunteer" anything from AOC? Point it out!

Oh that's right, you can't because I said no such thing and you fucking know it.

Read it again carefully . . . but thank you for confirming the accuracy.

You should read it again, because you didn't confirm a goddamn thing.

Not everyone who genuinely supports the rights of women is a woman, lol.

No shit, Sherlock -- literally nobody here but you ever implied otherwise. Maybe you're the sexist who just made that major discovery for yourself, LOL!

Bottom line is, you have some real "lack of reading comprehension" and "making bad-faith baseless accusation" problems.

Please stay safe, AOC

No, don’t. The opposition playing it safe is how the fascists are winning.

Cool, you managed to complete the quoting you had previously claimed to have done. Half credit for belated honesty, I guess?

Now point out the part where any of that is me "freely volunteer[ing]" any fucking thing at all from AOC, or where I claimed it's "a choice [I] get to make for AOC." Put up or shut up.

The bottom line is that I was just making a rhetorical point about how it's unrealistic to expect resisting fascism to be safe, and for that, you read into it a whole pile of shit that was not there in order to attack me.

And for what? What's your purpose here?

Now point out the part where any of that is me "freely volunteer[ing]" any fucking thing at all from AOC, or where I claimed it's "a choice [I] get to make for AOC." Put up or shut up.

It's already in their quote

No, don't.

And for what? What's your purpose here?

To keep poking you to make stupid comments showing your lack of reading comprehension

[–] grue@lemmy.world 1 points 17 minutes ago

If I tell you "go jump in a lake," did I "freely volunteer" you to jump in the lake? Was that "a choice [I] get to make for" you? Did I somehow compel you to jump in the lake? Do you need a towel now because of the inexorable magic voodoo power of my Internet comment?

Please, O Wise and Powerful Reading Comprehension Expert, explain to me how exhorting somebody to do something and "volunteering them" or "making the choice for them" to do it are equivalent!
