I knew you were talking about the continent with sane people line and it really bothered me because people in my original home country, America, people very much have a sentiment that "people are the same everywhere" and it's very much not true. People in imperialistic nations or very religious places often share certain traits that I find revolting, but these traits aren't universal and you don't have to venture far outside the imperial core to find what I call "normal" people (for lack of a better word, not normal in the sense of "embodying the values of anglo-normans")

Look, if you ain't been outside your home country there's nothing wrong with that, but there's no point getting antagonistic about it

Anyway, the continent is Asia

Yeah it's funny how it is, I picked up the habit in like 2 days but I can't drop the habit as easily.

I even thought to myself before hand "he's not east asian I'm not east asian it's gonna be weird if I do this" but habits die hard even if they're quickly learned

Finally - sanity. So much "no no no adventurism isn't praxis go back to being depressed and having no faith and doing absolutely nothing to advance revolutionary ideals". You can't just wait for the imperial core to un-brainwash itself and expect other people with revolutionary attitude to materialize out of thin air. The less stability in the core, the harder a time they'll have maintaining power over the periphery. And without a periphery to lend power to the core, the core will fall.

The enforcers of the core will spin whatever story they want about him in particular, in order to derail the movement that his work inspired. But his views are irrelevant - we're facing a moment where the core proletariat is realizing that the gods can be killed and we must capitalize on it as best as we can

I honestly don't believe they didn't just pick a random guy with inane views who participated in the lookalike competition to take the fall for it

Tbh I think they just pinned it on a non-communist because they're under some kind of illusion that it'll prevent a pattern

I learned long ago not to trust in hope that Americans would have any balls, and I ain't about to start now. I feel revolution on the breeze, but until it becomes a gust I dare not return to the hellhole from which I came. No point fighting alone

They literally already let you do this with the plus sign lmao

Make the removed face consequences!

Goodness now I feel self conscious about doing it myself. It's a holdover from middle school 😅

It was a hard day. Got a message from my landlord saying the police were bothering him because our visas were expired. They weren't. Had to go to the police station and get it squared away. So anxious the whole time. (Of course there was nothing to worry about, but that doesn't matter for emotional regulation). Afterwards couldn't hold it in and ended up crying in public. Went home and could barely stand, my feet hurt from the stress. Ordered safe food from meituan. My partner gets the door, and the delivery river says "I'm glad you're here" in broken English.

This is why I moved here. When I'm so hurt I can't even make eye contact, let alone start up conversations (which I can barely do in English, let alone Chinese), people actually notice. They actually care. So much so that a random delivery rider would go out of his way to speak a language other than his own. I'm so happy I'm alive.
