It actually happened because Paul verhoeven wrote a script that only got attached to the novel when someone else noticed the similarities. Paul never actually read it lol

In the novel they very much are small teams of individual warfighters in high-tech mech suits that can leap 100 yards at a time and fire tactical nukes. They also actually have strategy and stuff. The human wave warfare in the movies doesn't fit in with the message of the novel at all. I'd actually recommend reading the novel, its pretty interesting even tho its politics are bad.

Difficult to be hard on Cain for taking rejection badly - imagine there only is and only has ever been 5 sapient creatures in existance, one of them is GOD, and he goes out of his way to point out how much he loves your brother and hates you. There's no "we'll get 'em next time" and certainly no "plenty of fish in the sea."

The real ass GOD and every people who have EVER lived think you suck. Hard to underreact to that

What happened here?

Love to be forced to hand over the only document that keeps me from being deported over to just any cop that asks for any reason.

Revisiting this classic for what I assume are obvious reasons

He still has to wear it in Harlem and the black people around him are all EXTREMELY upset by his stance on... Everybody.

Canadians will know about heritage moments, there is some classic TV there. They are usually pretty innocuous as far as nationalist propaganda goes.

This one pisses me off with the Chinese parents learning the canadian ways of valuing individual accomplishments and unlearn their conformist and fatalistic Chinese cultural worldview.^___^

I found it a lot easier to watch because they really make no attempt at pathos or the kind of "character arcs" that are always in these kids cash in movies. They give the briefest possible introduction to the characters who are basically chosen at random. I enjoyed watching jack black deliver with conviction lines of dialogue that never bothered trying to make sense in the first place.

They really just distilled it down to "you like wacky characters and you like watching them interact so that is what the movie consists of" with a barely considered Minecraft layer of paint dumped on it. If they're supposed to learn something, they literally spend the least amount of time possible having that actually happen. Danielle Brooks' character is literally just "uh I dunno her landlord who drives her somewhere?" and she's not really less developed than any of the other characters lol

Thinking of the Minecraft story mode on Netflix maybe? It had choose your own adventure elements and i think Patton oswalt voiced the main character
