This was me in the early 2000s with the AvP2 fps.
Every two years I reinstall and think, "maybe this time it'll stick!" and then i get frustrated by spreadsheets and zero actual gameknowledge and quit
I just beat the main game last night. It is very much fine. Just fine. Playing on normal, nothing gave me any trouble, the hordes were underwhelming, and you've seen all of the gameplay it has to offer in the first two missions. Maybe multiplayer would be fun, or harder difficulties with more monsters, but i'm very glad I pirated it.

Yeah, their horde engine is kind of only suited for mass waves of zero AI enemies. To be honest, i'm not sure its really capable of any sort of varied tactics.

I had some weird flickering in the first mission, but i quit and restarted and it all evened out. Maxed out 1440p, around 80-100 fps with a 7700x and 4070super
