This could still absolutely be orchestrated to rehab Musk's image, but there's no way it will "fix his stocks". For the most part, the only people who would be caught dead buying Teslas recently were MAGA freaks. And now he's alienated them with his feud with Dear Leader. After the share price was already falling and Teslas sales were down over 70%, at least in the US. I think it will truly nosedive now...

And if you don't think a significant amount of wealthy MAGAts buy Teslas because of the convenience of not having to go to gas stations and because they support Musk/Trump, you're kidding yourself. Maybe they're not as supportive of the renewable, clean energy part of it as Democrats and Independents, but way too many people bought Cybertrucks after Musk showed who he really is...
When I think of someone addicted to meth, it's someone that's lost it all, or is in the process of losing it all. They have run out of favors and couches to sleep on for a night, they are unemployed, and they certainly have no money or health insurance to seek recovery. And of course I know there are "functioning" addicts just like there's functioning alcoholics. Maybe my ignorance is its own level of privilege, but that's what I imagine...
