This is turning into a promotion for violence. I won't be able to watch this thread so I'm going to lock it.

That's some evil shit. Leave the nice tamale lady tf alone.
I bet those tamales were delicious and cheap.
she probably even paid taxes
I bet they are. I hope she recovers from the heart attack, and is somehow able to pay for it. This could be one hell of a lawsuit.
Speaking up isn't going to do anything. It's like walking up to your bully and politely asking them to stop hurting you.
Take a wild guess what ICE, MAGA, and fascists respect? If you answered anything other than "violence" you are part of the reason why this is allowed to happen.
History shows that when just 3.5 percent of a population—about 12 million Americans—engage in peaceful protest, their demands become nearly impossible to ignore. This is particularly relevant today, as Americans continue to defend due process and health care rights amid a rise in authoritarian policies.
But what is happening in Hong Kong is they come up with a slogan, which is translated as Do Not Split, which is, we know that some people are willing to be confrontational with riot police.
And when they are, that’s going to cost the state in terms of not only resources, but it’s going to cost the state in terms of political capital and support. And we know that there are some people who are not willing to do that. And we are going to abide by the protocol of Do Not Split, which means that we’re not going to criticize them openly, and they’re not going to criticize us openly.
If we’re the pacifists, we’re not going to have them criticize us for being sort of like, I don’t know, limpid or flaccid or not courageous or whatever. And we’re not going to criticize them for being more confrontational. And the thing is that the support is also tacit.
I have been saying it for 6 months straight now, and now, I need you all to say it with me:
No matter what is to come, we. do. not. split.
That is a fantastic slogan, thank you for sharing. I really hate seeing speaking up or peaceful protests get shit on for not being enough. They have always been a part of movements, and they're at the very least bringing attention to issues. I don't believe the fight can be won with either side (peaceful or violent) in isolation.
A lot of people did not read or do not understand. Protests work when we do not bicker about how people protest if we support what their message is. If you are unwilling to be violent and even disagree with it, the truth is violence historically is necessary. If you are unwilling to be peaceful and disagree with it, it is still necessary to have the message spread and be heard and not everyone is willing to risk violence.
Respect how we fight the system, as long as we all agree what we are fighting.
Do you think black American civil rights was won with flowers and sunshine smiles? Your white privilege is showing.
Black American civil rights were struggled for by a rich tapestry of direct action, intellectual analysis, Christian pacifism, liberation through Islam, and Leftist theory and influence. It is not and never was any one thing. Violence was not the only ingredient.
But it was an ingredient, and it's hilariously tonedeaf to pretend it's not. Should it be limited where possible? Yes, of course. Hopefully, it's never needed at all!
But lets not pretend solely peaceful protests have ever worked when they weren't backed by the threat of violence if the peaceful protestors were ignored. Even MLK Jr. had Malcolm X looming over his shoulder, daring people to try shit... and even then, MLK Jr. still got assassinated for daring improve american citizen's rights.
As for constantly parroting the Hong Kong protests... you do realize that the Hong Kong protestors lost, right? Why are you using them as a guide for what to do?
Because they want the left to lose.
liberation through Islam
Fucking lol. There’s no liberation when religion is involved.
Read the second part about "do not split", and
Your white privilege is showing.
Right, because its only worthwhile to actively oppose them when outnumbering them 10-to-one or more, and the government fascists of today are as un-familiar with and incapable of managing and ignoring large crows as those of yester-year.
What a load of hot garbage. A few tens-of-thousands people with guns and purpose could wreck these gestapo clowns and make supporting them too scary to engage in, but no, the masses in record numbers must get out there and be subject to teargas, bullets, and jail-time.
Personally, if I'm going to potentially get shot at and/or go to jail anyways, I'll make damn sure I deserve it.

I'm going to go with you being sincere. Let's talk about this, our military is the strongest in the world. If the No Kings protest had gone to violence, they would have been mowed down. So many people would have died. Trump was itching to take over the city from the "liberals," he even sent the national guard hoping the protestors would turn violent.
What I'm saying is, don't promote violence and in this community (warning alert). Also, don't disparage the people who are also on your side, even if they're not using the tactics you would like. It's hard to differentiate between russian trolls who want americans to infight and people who sincerely think that the only way to fight this administration is violence.
I am not encouraging crowd-violence, but I will stan Luigi & the like until the day I die. On the flip-side, I am as disgusted with my own inaction as anyone else's, but I will clarify that I am most concerned that we don't have the time to wait for over 10 million people to get so fed up they take to the streets en masse.
On that note, it seems to me, that anything like the "Occupy Wallstreet" movement today would see the new anti-homelessness non-sense used to detain or even deport participants. The conservatives want the principled among us to make themselves vulnerable like so.
Oh I'm sorry, did the No Kings protest end Turnip's push for autocracy?! Are the fascists defeated now because enough people voiced their opinion!?
Your ignorance is cute, but absolutely pathetic in the face of reality.
Baby, I hope you're posting this comment from inside a tent after a long day of training with your guerilla resistance militia, because it's horseshit and classist to dump on people who are actually doing something, even if that something is just the beginning of what should be done.
I cannot begin to express how over I am hearing the opinions of anyone who has already given up. Playing Red Dawn with your little pistols and rifles and mail-order TEMU body plate armor isn't going to save you against a global military hedgemon with more autonomous missiles than taxpaxong citizens. If you have theory that will fix all this, then get the fuck out there and put it into action and convince us with results. Jesus Christ.
Preach
Protest doesn’t do shit, because protest is not the end goal. Protest is a recruitment for civil rights groups, direct action groups, legal groups, etc. It’s a call to action. So part of your argument is correct. Asking the bully nicely is not going to work. But start legal actions and gain leverage over school boards would work well without violence.
