Disney has confirmed what has been known all along, they will fire you if you say anything they disagree with, even if they have to MISREPRESENT, MALIGN, and MISCHARACTERIZE you to do it.

She was fired for her posts on Instagram & Twitter. They didn't make things up, she posted them publicly.

That being said when even Disney is giving up on lawsuits you know we're in a bad place.

As for the actual argument, free speech just means freedom from consequences... from the government. If you loudly make an ass of yourself everyone else is allowed to laugh at you. If Disney thinks you're costing them money, they're allowed to fire you.

From a character perspective I'm bummed she got fired. I've never seen such a perfect character backstory told when Cara Dune was described as "From Alderan", we the audience immediately understood her character so much better. But it's hard to watch that character when I know the actor is a piece of shit.

I read this as disney simply thinking woke is out and fascism is in so they stand to gain by rehiring her

With this lawsuit concluded, we look forward to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future.

Is definitely corporate speak for "Never fucking talk to us again."

Yeah I'm withholding judgement IMO. Right now that's corporate speak. I've been fired before, and had HR tell me they wish me luck and that they hope to cross paths again someday. It's horseshit. If they hire her I'll judge them harshly for it

also employment discrimination only applies to protected classes. republicans are not a protected class.

Yet.

Had to be said.

Being a public figure and using that platform to compare the imagined or self inflicted hardships of republicans in the US to Jewish people in the holocaust should get you fired unless you want to work with Nazi sympathisers.

Big oof. Don't hire Nazis just because your founder was one

Shut up, Nazi.

Annoying fucking character anyway. Like a cinderblock with a body attached.

I hoped that her future project will be torrented with a poop face filter on her

I hope her future project will be as a Disney cast member: 10 hours a day in a stuffy mascot suit in the Florida heat, her pay docked if she takes the mask off for even a second in front of customers.
