The only reason why trump being a pedo is an issue now is because this parasite decided to make an issue.

I guess good over all to get some exposure to the pedo regime but let's be real Murdoch ain't doing this to help us or for justice.

Trump likely outlived his usefulness and being flashed to cover up for other pedos within the parasite class.

I suspect too that Trump is simply not useful anymore to whoever actually has significant influence within the US.

Consider that Trump actively harms the US economy, in more ways than one.

  • Trump's stance against "handouts" to the people cripple the US economy. Poor people will spend whatever they get. If they get $1K in handouts, they're gonna spend $990 in consumer spending, thus stimulating the economy. The economy is like a human blood, it needs to keep flowing sothat the human can thrive. Trump's crippling of consumer spending cripples the US economy, and that certainly is a problem to whatever feudal lords there are in the US operating in the shadows today.
  • Trump's stance against renewable energy makes energy significantly more expensive, which again harms manufacturing (blue collar jobs) because cheap energy is the basis on which manufacturing runs. All manufacturing is a direct consequence of plentifully available cheap energy, and we all know that solar energy is the cheapest form of energy in human history
  • Trump's cuts to NASA are a threat to a new and growing economic branch that robs people of a vision of future and aspiration. The exact consequences are hard to estimate today, but they're definitely cuts to the US economy's future.

Consider that the wealthy elite is heavily interested in a good economy; it is their life and blood.

Everything in recent years has gone sideways. Murdoch initially wanted to build Fox News around Obama but was overruled by Roger Ailes according to reports. Ailes wanted to build conservative propaganda networks whereas Murdoch wanted people watching the news.

Jeff Bezos's wapo and Murdoch have become allies in exposing the Epstein pedophilia network. And oddly also Walmart. This must have to do with the tariffs and ultimately the economic impact of the tariffs.

And oddly also Walmart.

I suspect they might want to present themselves as "fighting for the people, i.e. against Trump"?

Considering that walmart is heavily connected to the people directly (as they are daily customers), it is very important for them to get along well with the local citizens. That is especially so as maybe, otherwise people get dissatisfied with "big companies" and "big chains" and that anger might last out against walmart, as it is a big chain?

He's a fucking ghoul that has been influencing opinion in the anglosphere for many years. He's got too much control over the media in the UK, US, and Australia.

[–] Apepollo11@lemmy.world 74 points 2 days ago (4 children)

Not just media - he directly has a hand in shaping governmental policy.

By his own admission, that's why he dislikes the EU so much - they don't pay enough attention to him.

Murdoch is one of the first people Trump entertained in the oval office when he took over this round.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 7 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

and the tri·um·vi·rate alliance of them at the Qatar racing rally track in '23, with murdoch/putin, musk and a putin aligned propagandist.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 11 points 2 days ago

he has a hand in australia too, one of his propaganda channels, Australia sky news, is meant to trick people into thinking its the british/UK sky news. its almost always that creepy indian lady as the anchor.

Technically he owns the majority stock in two mega media conglomerates that own these companies. Right now he and his children are fighting over ownership after he dies https://www.theguardian.com/media/2024/dec/12/the-guardian-view-on-the-murdoch-family-drama-moguls-death-could-imitate-art

This guy is an actual supervillian that somehow beat the whole world

Originally I thought Murdoch was the inspiration for the villian in Tomorrow Never Dies, but that was a different billionaire media mogul (and father of Ghislaine Maxwell).

Boycott...

Fox News

The New York Post

The Sun

The Times

The Sunday Times

Sky News

The Wall Street Journal

Comedy Central has better reporting.

[–] Gingerlegs@lemmy.world 37 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Apparently I have been for many years

[–] BetaBlake@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Yeah it's easy to do because those outlets all suck

[–] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 8 points 2 days ago

To anyone with a smidgen of critical thinking ability, yes.

Just like my decades long boycott of Nestlé is FINALLY gaining traction.

Atta BOY!

[–] misteloct@lemmy.dbzer0.com 11 points 2 days ago

John Oliver is far better and he's not even a journalist.

[–] obinice@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's a shame, I had no idea he owned Sky News. I usually found them to be an excellent professional news source when one doesn't want the Governmental bias of the BBC.

I wouldn't trust Comedy Central though, joke or not, they're American, and the Americans can't be trusted these days either.

I suppose the lesson here, sadly, is that we can't believe anything from any source at all. Assume everything is half-truths, half-reported, and what we're being shown is the distraction from the thing they don't want us to look at.

I wish I knew how to find the hidden "real news", but the sorts of people that purport to provide it are loonies in their basements in tinfoil hats, alas. Though, perhaps that's just the image of them that the media wants us to see...

:-(

[–] missphant@lemmy.blahaj.zone 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It seems only Sky News Australia is owned by Murdoch and not linked to Sky News UK.

[–] obinice@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Aahhhh, that makes more sense. I wondered how such a seemingly respectable, proper journalistic platform could be owned by that tosser, haha.

Well, small victories I suppose! Thank you for clarifying that.

Murdoch is a vermin and we need pest control

[–] cupcakezealot@piefed.blahaj.zone 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

he's garbage but sky news (uk) is owned by comcast not rupert these days; sky news australia is still owned by him though

he does own talktv though.

Cocmast is not exactly better than Murdoch, though. Enshittification is a null-sum game.

[–] barnaclebutt@lemmy.world 39 points 2 days ago (5 children)

YSK that he is also the most successful shriveled up testicle ever, and ironically he and his children are a bunch of "cunts" according to many Australians.

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 2 days ago

Hey, not just Aussies, friend. The rest of the world also considers all of them useless, parasitic, rotten cunts — from the top of their cunty übermensch lizard-skulls to their cunty grind-the-brown-children-into-dust hoof-covers. 🤌🏼

Owns more than just that. Owns the entire Dow Jones as well, which explains a lot.

[–] psycho_driver@lemmy.world 18 points 1 day ago (3 children)

He should be considered enemy #1 of the American people.

[–] dellish@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago

And the Australian people, and the British people.

[–] Stovetop@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'll put him as a close enemy #2 after Trump, if only because I believe Murdoch is closer to death and his heirs are trapped in a succession crisis that may compromise his conservative media empire when he's gone.

He owns the Sun and the Sky? Is he gonna buy the Land next?

[–] UnknownSoul@programming.dev 10 points 2 days ago

No need, the Land already worships both.

[–] BuboScandiacus@mander.xyz 4 points 1 day ago

The trees

He's coming for the trees

[–] randompasta@lemmy.today 26 points 2 days ago

He is the mainstream media.

[–] zib@lemmy.world 15 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I never cease to be amazed that Rupert Murdoch is still alive. Truly a terrible injustice that time has not yet seen fit to take him from this world.

[–] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

His longevity may be attributed to a simple misinterpretation: "That is not dead which can eternal lie".

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Checkmate Atheists!

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 9 points 2 days ago

Apparently Lachlan is son is even worst than he is, hes a true believer of trump. and hes trying to cut his other children out of his will, and give it all to Lachlan, because them not on the same page of conservatism, could threaten his FOx news company. Another fun fact, he seperated fox from his other news sites, so they arnt liable if fox gets sued.

[–] aceshigh@lemmy.world 10 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It will be interesting once he dies. Iirc his kids (3 of 4) inheriting his estate don’t have the same vision as him.
