Nothing will make me leave, I will sit on this sinking ship and when it falls I will fight for my local socialist militia (I live in New York)
enough money to leave the united states
Left a month ago. It took the November election to move my whole family. Life is good but I still can’t stop doomscrolling US news and mourning in silence.
Money and a means of having support for my PTSD-addled self. I struggle trying to take care of myself, so I'd be enough of a burden on the state to make my emigration quite difficult.
don't feel like a "burden on the state", its literally why we pay tax.
not quite but you catch my drift. if you need it, everyone is better off if you use it.
Last time I looked at the requirements for emigrating somewhere (somewhere in Europe, forget which country) it mentioned that I'd need to be able to support myself financially. At the moment I desperately need to work through a lot of past trauma and run through therapy for PTSD, I'm not well enough to work a regular day job.
i get what you mean now, i hope things go well for you.
i don't think most of you guys have to be so hasty just yet anyway. you probably have some time.
Money, learning a new language, and having an education.
i'm going down with the ship.
the united states is dead. long live the united states.
I'm currently visiting Brazil for the second time, already making plans to come back and live here. Find a fully remote job, sell off what I don't need, anger my mother in the process. It's a big, big change, Brazil isn't perfect but at least there's good food and fiance's family is very welcoming towards me.
Several family member dying of old age. That's it, that's why I'm still here.
Admission to a better PhD program abroad, and necessary paperwork and liveable stipend
