My Uber driver was telling me about this company, trying to get a referral. He was saying you get paid $60 for a two hour session where you wear a helmet and type shit out.
Not as much of an ai hater as a lot of the people here but this use case sounds particularly dystopian. So I figure if enough people sign up and just think about random shit and fuck up there data maybe that'll gum up the works long enough for them to run out of money.

You're not good enough at controlling your thoughts to be less useful than the pornsick social media addicted ai drones with 10 second attention spans that would willingly participate in this.
I remember a fantasy novel from the Myth Adventures series where the good guys went undercover as conscripts in an enemy nation's army. They ended up assigned to logistics and decide they could effectively hamper the enemy army, while keeping their own cover, if they messed up ten percent of their supply orders. And they got medals for efficiency because a 90% success rate was so much better then every other logistics unit ๐
Anyway, that's what I think of when I hear your suggestion. The average competent human being reading this and recognizes how dystopian this bullshit is, even trying to fail, is going to give better data than the kind of fucking idiot who thinks this is a good idea and participates willingly.
This technology is evil. Like full on "round up all the people involved and bury them alive in the desert" type of evil. Like "call a team of priests and start burning people at the stake" type of evil. In today's world of hyper corporate and government surveillance, what brain-dead morons think it's a good idea to invent mind-reading tech?
The kind who get paid to do so, and have no empathy or fucks to give as long as they get paid.
As far as I know, this currently isn't technically feasible. So it's likely to scam investors.
Scamming investors is the whole plot of the ai tech bros. There's nothing substantial behind their blubbering.
I honestly think the idea is excellent and could even help paralysed people communicate.
Unfortunately, I don't think the implementation will be used for anything other than profit, and the entire system would probably work better without the AI part.
Neuroprosthetics always use some kind of machine learning / ai because everyone's brain is different. This is still probably some tech company bullshit though
