I’ve been somewhat friends with nick for about I’d say a year and a half now and not like “we hang out all the time” sort of friends but more like we go to the same hangouts and if we see each other we’re talking for an hour or two.

He’s a great kinda chill guy definitely not the person people think he is from cum town like sure he’s extremely funny and witty but he isn’t rude or a piece of shit. I think my favorite Mullen moment was at a party we were at and some guy was acting a dickhead and coked up and being obnoxious af I think he was either a wanabe comedian like a TJ Miller type or he was just friends with one, you know the guy. Anyway he starts changing the channel on the tv that some people were watching and was trying to log in to Spotify through the Apple TV app for some reason definitely destroying the vibes for everyone there and because he’s really wasted he keeps fucking up putting the password in so Nick walks over and takes the remote out of the guys hands, puts Netflix kids on and starts playing cocomelon. The guy is like “woah man are you cumtown big fan big fan” and Nick just says “yeah I could tell you are watch this” and then the guy is like “yeah man” and shuts the fuck up watching cocomelon while the rest of us just get back to doing whatever. It’s just the way he shut down this dickhead that made me laugh like he’s so respected by the biggest dorks that they actually respect him enough to watch cocomelon just because the guy put it on. No idea why he chose cocomelon but it made sense in some kinda way and a load of people found it funny because it made an annoying situation better.

My friend is having a NBA watch party later in the week and he might turn up. I’ll never tell him about this website because he won’t talk to me this is just a dumb ama for anyone with an interest. I’ve also met Brace and Liz from trueanon but never got the chance to say hi

"I'm a big fan" "yeah I could tell" is a good burn tbh

[–] DumbAMA@hexbear.net 12 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah that’s why I laughed lol. He has a clear disdain for the fans I’m sure any normal person would tbh with fans like that lmao

[–] DumbAMA@hexbear.net 4 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Is this a running gag or something

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 9 points 3 weeks ago

ah i guess “your friend” nick didnt tell you about it

[–] ratboy@hexbear.net 14 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

No question but I'm glad he'e nice. I watched part of this stupid podcast that he was a guest on where the host kept picking on Stavvy for being fat (he wasnt on the show), like would not stop making fun of him. It wasn't even funny in the way that Stav would riff on, it was just bully material. Nick wouldn't go for it and was defending Stav. I found it very sweet and I think even from that I gauged that he was probably a good dude

[–] DumbAMA@hexbear.net 12 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Yeah he’s really nice to his partner too they seem like a happy couple so I wouldn’t doubt that he wouldn’t defend Stav

Yeah him and Adam seem very happy together.

Also just want to clarify I’ve never been a fan of cum town because I just don’t find it funny like I get the bit and I understand why people were drawn to it but it’s not for everyone. I prefer their comedy outside of the podcast because they can each hold their own. I never really knew about stab until seeing him on YouTube shorts riffing on his audience and Cumtown just feels more like unemployment humor

I don't know any of podcasters that I enjoy and I pray it stays that way.

[–] hellinkilla@hexbear.net 9 points 3 weeks ago

I feel bad for them that there is this weird parasocial aspect to the job. In the past people could be radio hosts or journalists or writers or on TV without having to participate in a discord chat or share personal things to a wide audience on social media.

[–] DumbAMA@hexbear.net 8 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

They’re pretty cool and just regular people that put on more of an act on for the pod. I’m talking more in the realm of left adjacent podcasters like chapo and trueanon, these types are fine and generally nice to be around. I haven’t been around any other type p sure being around Patrick bet David I would blow my fucking head off

[–] Antiwork@hexbear.net 8 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

I'm sure they're fine people.

[–] DumbAMA@hexbear.net 6 points 3 weeks ago

Don’t lie I’m sure you’d wanna meet ur favorite podcaster you’re just saying you won’t because you wouldn’t be able to say anything to them

[–] SovietBeerTruckOperator@hexbear.net 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

My ex-step sister was friends with Stav.

[–] stink@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 3 weeks ago

Kinda lost respect for stav after he went on that late night show with seinfeld, really hypocritical imo

[–] MaoTheLawn@hexbear.net 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

has he had any good DIY projects on the go as of late?

[–] DumbAMA@hexbear.net 6 points 3 weeks ago

He did talk about making fly fishing lures and getting into it after watching videos on youtube

[–] KuroXppi@hexbear.net 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

My question is how did you meet Liz and Brace without saying hi? Like, surely when you exchanged pleasantries or whatever you would have said hello? Otherwise I have a different understanding of 'meet' than you do

[–] DumbAMA@hexbear.net 8 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

I was pretty wasted after having like 2-3 whiskey/soda and I just saw them randomly talking to one of the guests who was friends with the person that gave me the invite to that party. Saying "hi" was out of the picture because for one I just know they're from Trueanon but i'm not really a big listener and two I was drunk so I don't think me saying hi to them would've been that great and if anything they would've thought I was a tool. I just made a second glance and took a minute to register who they were and then I figured it out and then was like "oh right yeah". I just mentioned them because I know they're big with chapo somewhat and they're in that same group so I thought it would be something cool to bring up

I need some more info so a grown man willingly sat and watched cocomelon for more than a minute bc the celeb he likes told him to? How big is the apartment?

[–] DumbAMA@hexbear.net 2 points 3 weeks ago

Big. It’s a celebs studio apartment in the meat packing district

She’s a racist

[–] GoodGuyWithACat@hexbear.net 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Does he ever do any good impressions when you're hanging? His live-tucker-reaction is great.

[–] DumbAMA@hexbear.net 1 points 3 weeks ago

Not really we just talk about the usual shit you wouldn’t think he’s a comedian unless he told you
