Rule 5: Keep it civil. It's OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It's NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.

Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.

Rule 6: Memes, spam, other low effort posting, reposts, misinformation, advocating violence, off-topic, trolling, offensive, regarding the moderators or meta in content may be removed at any time.
Rule 7: We didn't USED to need a rule about how many posts one could make in a day, then someone posted NINETEEN articles in a single day. Not comments, FULL ARTICLES. If you're posting more than say, 10 or so, consider going outside and touching grass. We reserve the right to limit over-posting so a single user does not dominate the front page.

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

The genocide currently happening in South Africa against white Afrikaans. The one where their properties are being taken off them by the government with no payment and no recourse. The one where their properties government officials are literally on video singing “kill all the white people”. The one where groups of black people are going around murdering while families and facing no repercussions because it’s what the government is telling them to do.

Ok so here are the rules:

(a) where the land is not being used and the owner’s main purpose is not to develop the land or use it to generate income, but to benefit from appreciation of its market value;

(b) where an organ of state holds land that it is not using for its core functions and is not reasonably likely to require the land for its future activities in that regard, and the organ of state acquired the land for no consideration;

(c) notwithstanding registration of ownership in terms of the Deeds Registries Act, 1937 (Act No. 47 of 1937), where an owner has abandoned the land by failing to exercise control over it despite being reasonably capable of doing so;

(d) where the market value of the land is equivalent to, or less than, the present value of direct state investment or subsidy in the acquisition and beneficial capital improvement of the land.

In other words, land can be seized without compensation if the owner is not using it, and is rather just waiting for property values to rise in order to sell at a profit.

Yeah sounds horrible.

How is this a genocide?

Also, you might want to at least consider south African history and who was really fucked for a long time under Apartheid before spouting your crap.

While this is good info for reasonable people. I'd suggest in the future YOU ask for evidence of idiots claims like this and just call it out as a lie like it is.

These fascist talking points about white genocide should never be taken seriously. You don't need to provide counter evidence to someone literally shitting out of their mouth.

When arguing with white supremacists keep it simple. They don't care about facts. They'll never ever ever turn back and agree with anything you say. They'll just pivot and use any point of evidence you provide to create a new lie.

What this looks like to the average idiot listening to that back and forth is "oh, I guess there is some debate on this" and that is exactly what white supremacists are trying to do with these lies. To add doubt to reality.

There is no debate. No need to debate straight up lies. Call them lies and keep them incredibly focused on having to provide proof. They'll never be able to.

I get where you are coming from, but I wanted to put that out there. Not for the person I was calling bullshit on, but for everyone else reading this.

You are right though. The only way to get through to anyone is to get them to prove their point of view. Proofs just make them argue in new ways and never learn anything.

I guess I will leave this up as it is done already, but take what you said into consideration for the future.

Absolutely. I took some advice after watching this video on the topic awhile ago and if anything it's at least improved my mental health.

I don't agree with all the points he makes. But it's definitely helped simplify my approach when dealing with these people spreading white supremacists talking points online.

Curious of your statement, as it not being the first time I've heard something like this, I looked for more information. This article seems to sum up the factual consensus pretty well.

Afrikaners, the descendants of Dutch settlers in South Africa, codified the nation’s apartheid racial segregation system in 1948 and subsequently subjected the country’s Black population to mass evictions and brutal segregation.

White South Africans, as the end of apartheid neared in the early 1990s, owned the vast majority of the nation’s land. Even decades after the end of the apartheid system, white South Africans still own more than 70 percent of the country’s agricultural land, despite making up less than 10 percent of the overall population. The government’s efforts at land redistribution — including a new January land reform law — are designed to address this disparity.

In his February order, Trump claimed that Afrikaners were “escaping government-sponsored race-based discrimination,” as well as “racially discriminatory property confiscation,” and demanded that U.S. officials draft plans to provide relief, including refugee resettlement, to Afrikaners.

Afrikaners have been vocal supporters of Trump, and Musk, who grew up in South Africa under apartheid, has been a vocal opponent of what he calls “racist ownership laws,” in the country. Musk is not himself Afrikaner but descended from more recent British and Canadian white settlers in the country.

Musk has also been vocal about alleged violence against white South African farmers, claiming in 2023 that “they are actually killing white farmers every day.” The country’s courts have found that such claims are baseless.

They are probably going to experience some intense culture shock. They may be white on the outside, but old school white supremacists here don't take kindly to accents that identify you as an outsider, even if they are being used as pawns by one particular group of supremacists. 'Go back where you came from or else' is their rallying cry, even if you are born in the US.

Surprisingly, a lot of the white nationalist organs here in the US have VERY intimate contact with white national South African groups. I'm wondering how many of them are coming here to avoid getting caught in government dragnets in SA. Lots of the bombmaking know-how and quite a lot of weapons flowed into South Africa during the fight to keep apartheid from the 60s-90s (and now the fight to either topple the post-apartheid government or create a separatist state where they can institute apartheid), and much of THAT was supplied by contacts in the American KKK. Weird Little Guys did an incredible deep dive on the interlinking of the white nationalist movement internationally with white South African resistance to the ANC and the DeClerc and post-DeClerc governments.
