To justify a higher price of course :)
Idk, I personally don't use it but I know some people see it as a plus so I mentioned it
โฌ180 for a fan? For a tiny motor and a plastic fan blade. Jesus Christ. They wouldn't be in business if people didn't buy this crap as well, what the hell?
A fan is like the most basic of electrical products out there, it doesn't need to cost a fortune just to make some plastic spin round
as an app integration.
Pass.
Not mandatory
The fact that it has a processor in there at all would be a red flag for me. A fan should just be a dead simple electric device, no electronics involved.
You mean no software involved, right?
That too but I mean no microprocessors at all really, just an electric motor that has one or more circuits it can be activated by to spin at different speeds, not much more complicated than a light switch and probably simpler than a dimmer light switch since it only needs a few speed steps. Usually with a mechanical way to pop out the other buttons if a new one is pressed.
Eh, I'm happy to have stuff like a "night mode" in a fan. A bit of logic doesn't hurt IMO, as long as it's reliable hardware (though that's hard to know).
Duux fans are really great. Quite sound sensitive, and this is one of the few brands that actually make low noise fans.
If you want a silent fan, I recommend you look for DC fans. You can recognize them from having more levels (eg 20 instead of 3) besides mentioning DC somewhere. The Duux fans are really small and expensive, but they sell spare parts if you are into longevity.
I can recommend the DC variants of the Cecotech EnergySilent series if you want a normal sized standing fan from a Spanish brand that is cheaper than Duux. Their only downside is the beeping noise they make when you change the setting, as the reviews will also tell you.
I got the whisper 2 for 100 euros on sale and am happy with it but thanks for bringing an alternative for the people still looking!
Making the Noctua fans look like good value
